Value trades of late like Santonio for a 5th are smart trades, but anything higher than a 4th for a player can be a risky proposition.

Ernie Sims is not a proven OLB, he's terrible. He's the worst coverage LB in the NFL and he can't tackle.

Last year, Sims was thrown at 24 times and gave up 22 completions and 2 TDs. Of all the 4-3 LBs who played at least 450+ snaps, only one had more missed tackles than Sims. Last year, playing full time, he missed the 4th most tackles in the league while giving up 56 catches on 69 attempts.

The Eagles got fleeced, Sims is dreadful.

Oh and as to the OP, no draft picks are not overrated. I seem to remember quite a few good players getting drafted, although sometimes my memory falters.

So in the end Roy E Williams only beat out Heyward-Bey..... That's one outta 6.... So 83.33% of the 1st round receivers from last season alone beat Roy Williams....

On the list of receivers that you have, how many TDs did they give the team. Now ask yourself this...how many of those guys would a team trade there first round picks for. Harvin probably has 3 to 4 years left on his contract, he did a very good job as a rookie, and you still could only get a 2nd or 3rd for him. Didnt Brandon Marshall only get denver a 2nd. Now props to Miami for only giving up a 2nd, and negotiating that deal, but Marshall for teams in need of a WR is worth a 1.
