Everyone is talking about last night's game and I think I am one of the few that's discouraged by what I am seeing. I already do not like what I am seeing on the field. I hate over-complicated rules. I hate all the commercials. The length of the game isn't fun. I hate how defenses can no longer play defense. Imagine how guys like Ronnie Lot would fare in today's game?

Our Cowboys offense is not built like what we are seeing from these other teams. We used to have high scoring capability with our old QB but things have changed. Is this change good? I am no JG fan but I do like controlling the clock and playing solid defense. This new NFL seems like it's taking the skill out of coaching. What's the point in pinning an offense deep in their in territory when they'll just march down the field in a matter of minutes and score? Maybe I am just too old for my 45 year old body...

College ball has come to the NFL. I too love to watch a great defense that can at least make a great offense struggle to score. Unfortunately with the rule changes, and after last night, these type of games will be more common until the fans get tired of shootouts.

Then rules will change again to favor defense, it's all a cycle. But yes the new NFL is going the way of the NBA. To my chagrin, because I love pound it out football and defense.

It's a fad. QBs will start getting injured, the make too much money for that.

All the changes to rules favor the offense. Can’t lay a hit stick without getting a flag these days.

I like watching high powered offenses but I like to see some D too. Balanced football.

Don't think it is a fad because the NFL owners keep adjusting the rules to protect QB, tied the hands of the defense secondary and this just stimulates more point scoring.

I hope you are wrong. These 4 hour games are killing me! Lol. I love defense and ball control, even though my best team averaged over 50 points a game. I won a game 51-50 and another 65-58, I was estatic we one, but I was sick that we gave up that many points.

If the NFL is moving towards Big 12 football let's get Mike Leach in here as a coach.

There were 8 games where 25 points or less was scored by the winning team and each of those 8 was a TD or less win. Not sure I would go as far as saying this will be the norm

You have a handful of teams with dynamic offenses putting up big points
3 teams are over 300 points
22 teams are at or below 500
The league actually has parity it’s wanted for years

Old school? New School?...The future of football is here!!! Keith Lincoln,Paul Lowe and John Hadl cannot be stopped! The 1964 Chargers are the future of football!...or wait a minute, maybe it was the 1950 &1951 Crazylegs Hirsch- Norm Van Brocklin Rams the two highest scoring teams of the decade.Or maybe "Offense sells tickets/Defense wins championships". Tap the brakes on Goff and Mahomes as the future.

Probably depends on what the ratings are . If it shows fans like it the refs will manipulate it towards that goal

Fantasy football sucks.
It is ruining fans perspective of true football.

Give me ball control and defense, but an offense that can score when they must. But try to avoid those shootouts.

There will always be a counter to any type of football.

At the college level everyone went spread and got small then the SEC decided to get big and play defense and they win titles every year.

The NFL will do the same.

These teams will build defenses to stop all of these spread teams and some team will just build a power house football team and smash all of these small teams.

I think Dallas should be that team but our pass game just limits us so much.

I was thinking the same thought right before I read your post. I used to be nuts about FF but I stopped a few years ago. I found that I was watching so much football (for my fantasy team) that I was actually missing the game on TV.

That's what I thought about the last Cowboy game. I came in the house from mowing at 2:50 and the Dak was talking to the interview lady. Usually the games last at least 3 and a half.

I hate the trend, but it's what the powers that be want, so that's what's going to happen.

I do think it's funny that in the Big 12, ESPN ridicules 50-45 games to no end. In the NFL, they're the greatest thing ever.

Of course its the future. Its exactly what the NFL wants. More offense. More fantasy numbers. More eyeballs. I hate it. I hate how easy the NFL has made offense. I think its a God awful product. But there arent many around like me so my opinion really gets thrown our by the NFL .
