Are OTA's open to the public? Where are the updates?

I haven't seen any news coming out of the Cowboys OTA's. Has anyone heard anything? Please I'm desperate for something besides a roy W or Barbarion thread.

OTAs aren't open to the public and media only on selected dates.

The Cowboys started their "organized team activities" at Valley Ranch yesterday. Today, we'll get our first day of access, and we'll have one day each week for the next four weeks, leading into the full-squad minicamp slated for June 17-19.

The Cowboys will hold 12 OTAs -- held on each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the next month. Here are the NFL rules governing them, per the CBA ...

Workouts are strictly voluntary.
Teams are allowed a maximum of 14 total OTAs.
Days can last a maximum of six hours, and no more than two of those hours can be spent on the field.
No contact drills are allowed.

Normally, these are teaching camps with the emphasis on installing the system both offensively and defensively, and the on-field portion is heavy on seven-on-seven drills and passing game work in general. It'll also be the first chance for rookies to begin earning reps against veterans, and prove a growing knowledge of a team's system. I'll check back when I get out to the Ranch.

There's been nothing to post, so regardless of whether I or one of the mods decided to use your thread as an OTA repository, it would still be falling towards the second page, cuz there's been nothing to report.

OTA reporting isn't the same as minicamp/training camp reporting...

I was going to go to the OTA... but I am taking a vacation instead.

There's been nothing to post, so regardless of whether I or one of the mods decided to use your thread as an OTA repository, it would still be falling towards the second page, cuz there's been nothing to report.

OTA reporting isn't the same as minicamp/training camp reporting...

Exactly. People who are expecting anything more than just some talk about who's here, who's not and who looks good in T-Shirts and shorts are expecting too much.

These are more to get some reps in throwing the ball around for the QB's and WR's, Kickers and Punters getting the leg muscles working and maybe checking out some return guys.

The OL, DL, LB's and DB's can't hit anything so they just work on footwork, ball skills and technique.

The coaches spend time installing new stuff on both sides of the ball.

This is also where the rookies realize they are no longer playing college ball just by seeing the size and speed of the big boys.

If we get anything juicy out of this it will be about a player who spent the last three months in the weight room.
