No harm in seeing what he can do there. I don't think he wins that job.
I don't see the practices, so it's just a wild-eyed guess, but I think Cooper wins it.So who then, Cooper?
Here is my take on two OL people that we discuss:
Collins: This guy has position flex; he is very good at G, but it will be exciting to see him at RT
Green: We have to see if he can stay healthy and be motivated to possibly, maybe play some position on the line; we have to potentially move a starter to RT (Collins) because we cannot rely on him; let's see if he can play LG
Green has done nothing from what has been reported to make this roster
I'm thinking that he is a very solid run blocker, and with his experience out at tackle, he could fit in well inside as to pass blocking. He is smart and large...and working inside probably would be better for his injury history. He has less mobility challenges, except in run blocking situations.
oh, I agree he has certain traits that made him a 3rd round pick; I just hope he doesn't go the way of the dodo and become extinct for this team...I don't want them relying on a guy that shouldn't be relied upon, that's all...I remain about 10% "hopeful" and 90% "let's move on"
I'll just give him this last season and see where he takes things.
Might be better suited to sell Ice Cold Dr. Pepper in the StandsThat's pretty much the way I feel about it. He might be better suited at guard than tackle, where he doesn't have to move laterally much.
