I think we're all pretty exhausted from what we've been through the last several years. I know I'm really disappointed.

People want to throw out the 17 year thing--and as fans they have a right to.

But in the the more modern era...let's say the "Romo era" since he became the starter in 2006...the team has been well above average record-wise.

In fact the record with him as a starter (63-45) is WAY above average and is actually one of the better records in the league during that span.
The three straight 8-8s have been brutal tough

What you say is exactly right, .. but 'above average' was never a way to describe the Dallas Cowboys.

That's the part I think we older fans are having a hard time with.

Older Fans need to adjust their expectations. This organization is no longer the top of the NFL. As jerry has said "I hope you liked those superbowls" referrring to the 90s ... because there is no hope in site as the years of mismanagement from Jerry and his son reek havoc in this organization.

WOW, talk about a "Monday Buzz Kill"!

I've known this for a while, .. but that just sunk in.

Nice going Jerry.

really sad actually.

Do you really think Jerry can get this thing outta the ditch it is in? By drafting? Cause hes over the cap. He cont buy his way outta this. He has to actually perform as a GM to get us out of this. He has to draft well and consistently for multiple years ... finding players AFTER rounds 1 and 2. Rounds 1 and 2 are no brainers as far as im concerned. Have you seen ANY hope from Jerry the GM. ? Personally i havent and i think this is gonna stay this way until JJ is 6 ft under.

Simple answer. YES

There is so many things to find humor in if you are another team.

Saints, Eagles, Bears, Broncos, Packers, Lions, Chiefs

They all got a pretty good laugh this past season for sure. Especially the Saints, Packers and Lions

If you try hard enough you can pretty much mock any team and make them look like a laughing stock.

I dunno ... he looks like a good exec but he is following the gameplan set out by the owner. And we know Jerry is a gunsliger/wildcatter at heart. Stephen might have sat down and truely looked at the organiztion and how to make it better. But he can only do what the bass lets him do. And the boss likes to be in charge. At least thats what i see looking from the outside at JJ. So yea ... maybe there is hope with Stephen.

Hmmmm, ... I don't know, .. if you are mocking any team that played in the Conference Championships, then you could be the laughing stock.

Yet immediately after the Patriots and Niners lost there were memes mocking their defeats.

I don't need to adjust my expectations. The Cowboys need to raise their expectations to meet mine.

Let's all be honest here...

If we were fans of ANY other team besides this one, we would consider them a laughing stock. With our QB, stadium, our owner, coach and horrible track record of blowing games with playoff implications; I think it's pretty fair to say that we're not only the most hated team in the NFL, but the most ridiculed and mocked as well...and probably for good reason too.

Not even remotely. Love the Qb, love the stadium. Love the coach. Hate the heartbreak, but am capable of recognizing the problem as poor pass defense. I don't think we're close to the most ridiculed or mocked team in the NFL, and, if we were, it would be unwarranted.

I think our fans have entitlement issues, generally, and a subset of them suffer from low self-esteem for reasons I can't quite fathom. We've been the most consistent team in the NFCE the last three seasons, for example, and yet they act like we're cellar dwellers. We should be able to distinguish between 'not anywhere near where we want to be' and 'laughingstock.' Really, we should. There's a huge difference between those things. And yet, for whatever reason, we are, collectively, not.

Speak for yourself.

Hate the QB, Stadium is awesome besides the tv gets in the way, hate the coach, hate the owner, hate the defense, not just the pass defense. We are by far the most ridiculed. Sportscenter will begin today with What is going on with the OC Coaching drama. Just one more chance for everyone to laugh, because it is a joke, and they should laugh. Jerry might as well hire unicorns and three headed monkeys to work the sidelines instead of Rowdy. It is flat out honestly a friggin circus sideshow.
