Are the Dallas Cowboys still America's Team?

Pick a sport team nickname from anywhere in the world. Is there another moniker that receives as much repetitive, irrelevant, commentary as 'America's Team'? I mean, since the first time the practice ever began?

Seriously. Any soccer fans? Rugby fans? Basketball fans? Whatever the sport. You name it. Please weigh in.

America’s Team is the Lakers. Way more fans and actually had recent success. They receive far more support from their league as well. If the NFL has to have a representative, I’d say the Patriots or Chiefs are probably more deserving than Dallas atp. You can count the number of Cowboys fans under 40 years old on one hand.

Oh no, ESPN/FS1 talking heads said no?

Don't care, won't click.

Like it or not, the moniker stuck in 1978, from NFL films, and then Summerall used it in 1979.
Since then, it's synonymous with the Cowboys.

This is such an empty-headed retread discussion that is always on standby to help those who get paid according to how well they can chase ratings.

The very definition of the term is indicative of popularity.

There can be no better indication of the popularity of the Dallas Cowboys than to look at how the networks covet the opportunity to broadcast a Cowboys game in prime time.

End of discussion, but not that there's not plenty more evidence than that... just that that's all the evidence needed.

Next topic.

Wrong.

ESPN's First Things First and Fox's Colin Cowherd say no.

You know what i'm tired of every time this comes up with a team like the Patriots and then it's the Chiefs think that somehow, they can take it away as if it's something to earn or win it's not... Why don't they come up with their own name why don't they give themselves a moniker oh that's right because they can't when something comes up in its thrust upon them they'll know they're in it I mean the name just became synonymous with the Cowboys and it will never go away but hey find a name that suits those new dynasties....

It is forever attached to the Dallas Cowboys and nobody can ever take it away they can say anything they want on the Internet it doesn't make it real just say Hey Google, " who's America's team"
you'll have three days' worth of reading material... it will never be taken away just like Thursday games you know the Thanksgiving game everyone thinks the Cowboys don't deserve it we don't deserve prime time games and we're one of the top prime time teams again this year...

why do you think the Cowboys are on so many Thursday nights, Sunday nights, Monday nights, they'll be the last team that they make you know go to Europe or Germany or Mexico, this is where they want us in the big markets...

that's why they're America's team and it's not just because everyone loves us it's because everyone's good, bad, or indifferent; the Cowboys draw like the Lakers and the Yankees...

they're just one of those franchises that will always be neutral when it comes to well known to just about anyone it's not just the Dallas market it's not just Texas people know who the Dallas Cowboys are, well just about everywhere worldwide...

I'm betting somewhere on another planet aliens are wearing some Cowboys jerseys, lol :muttley::lmao:,

They're actually not but I get why you would lump them in because the Lakers the Yankees and the Cowboys are three of those worldly teams that are known by everyone and they're either loved hated or people are indifferent but they all tune in to watch that logo will forever carry just about anywhere of those three franchises and the Dallas Cowers will never lose America's team's moniker it's no one else's to get it's ours forever seriously this question says stop being asked it doesn't rotate it's not something up for sale or up to win it's you're not it's not a trophy it was thrust upon us and now that's who we are it's our name forever...
