Literally every piece of evidence there is says they are.Americans love a winner and we haven’t been a winner in three decades. No, we are not Americas team.
I live in chiefs territory. There are some around here who are getting tired of them. The number of non-chief fans has dramatically increased. No not even close
The Cowboys will always be gold for marketing which is why they are always playing prime time games. But again Americans love a winner and we haven't been a winner (or in an NFC championship game) in 30 years. Are we winners? No. Are we always good for high ratings? Always. Winning playoff games and making deep playoff runs are what makes an elite organization. We won't ever be one again unless the Jones family sells.Literally every piece of evidence there is says they are.
You said "No, we are not Americas team."The Cowboys will always be gold for marketing which is why they are always playing prime time games. Enough said it's not getting taken away it's not up for sale it's not anything to win you don't get to take it it's done it's over the conversation is over because it's never going to happen...NEXT and BYE
The Dallas Cowboys will always be America's team no matter the canceled culture era of nonsense think that it's going to happen it's not going to happen trust me it's not going to happen you can debate with whoever you want and won't be me this is the final time I see your post but good luck arguing with other people knowing you're arguing over nothing it's like talking to a brick wall it's worse the brick wall at least has some kind of art and character which you do not..
ONE QUESTION BIG BABY- DO YOU TAKE THE DIAPER OFF WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE OR KEEP IT ON UNDER YOUR FATBOY PANTS, LOLsee you can't let it go and you're still clueless this not the name of a defense or a group on the field this is not hot boys this is not ridiculous nicknames those nicknames stuck to that team only this is the Dallas Cowboys this is the Dallas Cowboys trademark this will forever always be America's team those names you mentioned is why you're clueless they go with a specific era of football of those specific teams they were only like four or five years max if that but you don't get it america's team is a label that was stressed upon our team forever it wasn't just one era it was all of them put together the Cowboys from the 70s up until now our America's team and you can't take it away so I'm glad that this would be the last time I have to talk or read and respond to your messages argue with somebody else is not going to be me i'm right you're wrong and there's nothing you can do about it you're not canceling this name it's not going to be taken away it can be talked about endlessly and we'll have no results except for the Cowboys will still be known as America's team forever....
Your problem is you were in diapers when America's team was being built we will always be America's team.ONE QUESTION BIG BABY- DO YOU TAKE THE DIAPER OFF WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE OR KEEP IT ON UNDER YOUR FATBOY PANTS, LOL
Again, I said America loves a winner and that immediately disqualifies the Cowboys as America's team, at least the past 30 seasons. Winning is everything. You said "No, we are not Americas team."
What part of your post suggests they aren't?
Your problem is you are living in the past. By the way, kids table is the same as the adults in this forum. Aren't you paying attention, or has dementia already taken its toll old man? Whats already happened and over hasn't helped us in the last 30 years has it, LOL.Your problem is you were in diapers when America's team was being built we will always be America's team.
You just weren't old enough to see it be built or appreciate it.
No one can take away what Tom Landry and Roger Staubach built least of all some morons from the media that just bring this up once a year to try and get some ratings.
Did you see Bob Lily throw his helmet after the colts game or sack Bob griese in our first Super bowl win .
No you probably weren't even born yet shut up and get back to the kids table.
Perfectly stated. Americans are front runners, by and large. You know who has the best fans in any sport - the teams that win. Now, not 50 years ago, lol. How can you be Americas Team still when you haven't won anything in decades and decades, LOL. People clinging to the past glory.Again, I said America loves a winner and that immediately disqualifies the Cowboys as America's team, at least the past 30 seasons. Winning is everything.
ESPN's First Things First and Fox's Colin Cowherd say no.
Lol. Nice! What villages are missing their idiots?
This is such an empty-headed retread discussion that is always on standby to help those who get paid according to how well they can chase ratings.
The very definition of the term is indicative of popularity.
There can be no better indication of the popularity of the Dallas Cowboys than to look at how the networks covet the opportunity to broadcast a Cowboys game in prime time.
End of discussion, but not that there's not plenty more evidence than that... just that that's all the evidence needed.
Next topic.
Great info as usual from you Sir. I always learn a lot from reading what you post here. I wondered who coined it and when. How it came about. I always believed it was from Pat Summerall first saying it during one of the Cowboys games in the 70s he was calling. The real history of the Cowboys being called “America’s Team” started in the team’s 1978 annual highlight film narrated by the incomparable NFL films voice John Facenda.
In that highlight film’s opening, Facenda’s voice says, “They appear on television so often that their faces are as familiar to the public as presidents and movie stars. They are the Dallas Cowboys, "America's Team".” That’s where it all started.
There are TWO versions of the Cowboys being “America’s Team”:
Sadly, if we are still America’s Team, it’s VERSION TWO.
- VERSION ONE: They were called America’s Team because of their sheer dominance in the 1970s, winning a whopping 14 playoff games, winning 5 NFC championships, and two SBs. They were the most popular team in the NFL. Loved for their for their playoff dominance and hated for the same reason.
- VERSION TWO: (The current version) They are AT because of their TV ratings and interest generated by both those who love the team AND those who hate it. NOT based on playoff performance but based on the interest of watching a once great franchise crash yearly.
