This team continues to find ways to lose this era. And sometimes in ways we’ve never seen before .

We used to believe we left the roof open so god could watch his favorite team . Now I’m not sure the football gods are even looking our way.

The Cowboys have always had to overcome adversity from “the sneak” in the Ice Bowl to “ the catch”. We went from not being able to win the big one to next years champion. But geeze this monkey which has become a gorilla after almost 3 decades on our backs this era needs the grace of god to overcome everything from fumbling bumbling a snap to freezing our kicker to the catch that wasn’t to stepping out of bounds on a conversion . Some of these ways of losing we’ve never seen before. OMG!!

I hate to think we are doomed . And I know our owners prayers were already answered back in 95. But this team and our franchise this era just doesn’t seem to be on the right side of history.

In sports you need to believe there’s a little bit of luck. That the ball will bounce your way at some point. But man , I just don’t know anymore. I don’t think the football gods are looking our way when we probably have never needed them more.

I don't believe in luck or stuff like that. This organization is built like a country club that happens to have a football team. No elite coach wants to be here, what happened with the last 2 coaches that really elevated this team? Jerry kick them and replace them with puppets. We have heard and read until oblivion things like: "we like our guys", "moral victory", "El paso", etc etc... That being said, if you have a coach that is technically a human-phone that echoes whatever his overlord thinks then players have little to no respect and guess what, nobody is held accountable, except when the team looses to Philly or 49ers on the playoff, then yeah, they use coaches, schemes or players as scapegoats.

Luck? No. We could increment the probabilities of winning if you have a formula to do so, on the other hand you might sound like a dude sitting on the coach complaining that God has abandoned him because he can't loose any weight.

God did watch his favorite team back when we were his favorite team. A time when our leaders were the best of men and their morals were never questioned.

We will see over the next 3 weeks. There are issues with the Eagles and the 49ers. A win over Lions would be a positive thing to start out the week. It's going to be an interesting and exciting finish to the season.

I could swear Jerry said if he got a win in SB30 he would never ask for another.

I don't know about that but he said this last month after beating the Commanders on Thanksgiving, 45-10.

"I don't know that I've had a day like this," Jones said after the game, "And I'll include them all, I'll put Super Bowls in there, I don't know if I've ever had a better day with the Cowboys than today."

Yep, felt just like winning a Super Bowl. I'm surprised he hasn't scheduled a parade.

Pretty sure our morals were questioned with Michael Irvin and several other players in the 90's.

I don't think luck has anything to do with it. Look at all the lousy teams over the past 28 seasons that have gone from worst to a Super Bowl trophy in 2-3 years. Anything is possible in the salary cap era but winning it all is predicated on running the organization the right way, having made the right hires, always churning the roster tirelessly, etc.

Look at what the Rams have done without a first round pick since 2016! They won a Super Bowl and are a surprisingly hot team now that might be trouble in the playoffs.

Jerry has insisted on running things his way regardless of the awful playoff results and his post season track record speaks for itself. IMO one of the biggest foundational flaws remains Jerry's insistence on hiring a head coach that lacks the power to hire and fire or hire their own staff. This is something that cannot be ignored. Players feared Jimmy because he could fire them.

The bottom line is I feel bad for the players in Dallas because they have to overcome so many Jerry-created obstacles to win in the post-season.

Luck is a product of running a football organization the right way so we unfortunately tend to have "bad luck".

With this flawed foundation, the Jones boys try to build a deep playoff run winner year after year, but Hendrix was right about "Building castles made of sand" on such a cracked foundation. But hope spring eternal.

Jerry likes flashy shinny toys. That may sell tickets and drive jersey sales. Playoff games are still won in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

I don't care how much of a passing league the NFL is today. Football games are still won with physicality.

Putting Jimmy in the ROH helps, but we still need to fire Rowdy.

The Cowboys have been unlucky for sure, but the league has policies in place to prevent the Cowboys from playoff success. It really doesn't matter until the league decides that it's okay for the Cowboys to get the same fair shake as every other team.

What is an elite coach?
Any coach that is currently winning, and that is not available. So fans use this excuse as a cop out complaint.

When these coaches are availsble, most of the time because the team started to lose and were fired. Then fans will call him a bad coach even if he comes here, just to rag on Jerry.

Was MM an elite coach? Then the team started to lose, mostly because of injuries. S now he is not one? Bill Parcells?
No other coach was given a chance to come here because Jerry wanted his HC in training, and kept him too long.

MM has us in the playoffs with double digit wins, 3 years in a row. That has not happened since the 90's.

Very true and worth noting.

I’m torn on this . Should we be grateful we have a HC in our dysfunctional organization and selfish egoistical ownership that has helped us get to a consistent playoff contender?

Or should we consider feeling like we are doomed from ever getting back to our once proud championship ways ?

Perhaps my emotions after almost 3 decades of this mentality and torment from our situation that I’m not sure which way to sway.

I often argue this is not the same franchise but yet call it out for lack of success this era. I imagine that if I reap my own sentiments and have accepted the bar has been lowered that this current status of Cowboys football should be more celebrated . 3 straight playoff seasons is a good run for a mediocre franchise.
