The G-Men were the best on that given Sunday. They are not the best team to ever play, period.

Iago33;1943343 said:Okay, check my logic here:
If the New York Giants hadn't made a touchdown on the last drive (if say the prayer of a pass had been intercepted), the Patriots would have won and would have been anointed the best ever by many in the media. Therefore, since the Giants beat that "best ever" team, wouldn't it follow that the Giants can be called the "best ever"?
Is my logic flawed?
Or are media-types flawed in their premature and shortsighted coronation of the Patriots?

Eli proved himself and did not choke under the pressure and showed this throughout the playoffs. To discredit Eli I think is very unfair regardless of how you feel about him personally
YoMick;1943834 said:I want to and have given Eli alot of credit. He came through... but it was via some pretty timely luck.
Game ending INT dropped
Tyree ball thrown in triple coverage and very high
Almost sacked
He was a bus driver that put his foot on the pedal in the end and avoided some pitfalls in the road.
Doomsday101;1944001 said:If you count almost ints then many great QB's are not so great. If you look at the entire playoffs the guy went out and got the job done. So if you want to look at it as luck fine but then put that same luck factor on many other QB's. I'm not trying to make Eli into the best in the game but when the Giants needed him to come through he did. He did that vs Tampa, Dallas, GB and NE that is some pretty damn good luck to go through that and end up with the ring.
YoMick;1944004 said:He got lucky while coming through. Just one of those plays that goes NE's way - he and the Giants were done.
Our stat person on this site Adam said there were 4 almost turnovers.
He is good...but he got lucky.
Doomsday101;1944021 said:As I said many QB then get lucky including Tony Romo who has had passes that were almost int but were not. Eli could have lost his cool but didn't he came through and made the throws at the end and put his team in the endzone. If that was our guy who did that we would be singing his praise but because we don't like Eli well he was just lucky. Sorry many QB have had that same luck along the way
YoMick;1944157 said:Your comments on luck are too broad.
I am talking specifically on that last series. Eli didnt lose his cool but could have easily lost that game a few times on the last drive.
Its not of my opinion... anyone who knows anything can see that.
I actually think Eli is better than what we saw him play in the playoffs.

Everyone has elly as this elite QB. Granted ,he played well but ELITE????????????????
If Samuals holds on to a pass that elly threw, (that was in his hands and he should have cought) , game over,(bad pass) then elly throws a pass that now their saying was "The Absolute Greatest Catch in Super Bowl history". So I give more credit to Tyree, if he doesn't make a spectacular catch on a questionable throw, ,game over.
You can say that elly played well and that he's a good QB, OK but as wise man once said, "Lets not get out the annointing Oil"
Man!!! Trent Dilfer has a SB ring, and so does Grossman.
Doomsday101;1944263 said:I did not say Eli was an elite QB I do think he deseves credit for the job he did. Yes he almost got a ball picked off, but he came right back and made plays to help drive his team to the winning TD and the only pick he did have was one due to the WR knocking the pass up to Hobbs for the pick.

I'm sorry, but if anyone expects me to praise elly or anyone else on gints it's not going to happen.
I think some (not all ) of their players , coaches and Most of their fans are just obnoxious.
Their fans Kill me. My best friend and alot of other friends I have here in NY two months ago wanted elly's head and wanted him gone, now He's The second coming. That hypocritical talk just absolutely kills me ,and this happens alot with gint fans around here..
Sorry for the rant, but I just can't stand that team and their fans (friends or not ) are just great frontrunner's.
