Are the odds better to try a 59 yd FG, ... or go for it on 4th and 10?

I think I might have looked for Witten for the 1st down, .. they seemed to be having trouble covering him there at the end.

I would have liked them to stay agressive and dink and dunk their way to a TD. There was enough time and two TO's left on the clock. I didn't understand the play calling at the end, or at least the execution of the play calling. Witten was getting 9 or 10 a pop. We had 40 yards to go with over a minute left and 2 timeouts. That is enough time to dink and dunk to the endzone. Garrett seemed to imply in his presser that they were going for the FG to tie. I don't really understand why.

Well, we know what Garrett thinks now and since he is the one making those calls........

So you keep running the same plays over and over until you get to the redzone?

Defenses key in on tendencies...and NO is pretty good in that department.

The more aggressive you get in those situations the less likely you are to pull it off because the D knows what you are going to do.

it was the right call. Thats the only reason Dallas is still holding on to Buehler is his ability to hit those long kicks. I am getting the sense that Red is losing confidence in Beuhler.

Witten was the hot hand on that drive. There is no reason to switch gears. Make the defense stop him before you look elsewhere. He pulled off a few solid plays in a row. No reason to switch gears just yet.

I want to know why they tried stupid out routes instead of hitting either Witten or Bennett down the seems for extra yardage? Or they could have pounded the ball.

:laugh2: You're implying that he had confidence in him the first place. I'm not so certain.

I disagree, .. attempting a 59 yd FG should never be a choice, only the last option.

And Garrett evidently is not losing confidence in Beuhler since he chose to have him attempt a 59 yd FG.

I just think the odds of picking up 10 yds was better than the odds of hitting a 59 yd FG.

I like the odds of calling a play to get 6-7 yards (at least) in the middle of the field and not ending the game with two time outs in your pocket.
