Report: Rams bought ticket for Sanchez to come Sunday

Steve Wyche of NFL.com reports the Rams have bought a plane ticket for Mark Sanchez to come to St. Louis on Sunday.

Sanchez at #2?

Rams Could Be In Hot Water Over Plane Fare

In response to the story that the Rams have bought a plane ticket for USC quarterback Mark Sanchez, a league source tells us that the Rams might eventually be making an even larger donation in the form of cash or future draft picks.

“If the Rams purchased a ticket for Sanchez they are breaking rules,” a league source told us tonight. “They can do no such thing until they are on the clock. I would think the Commish would get a little testy over that.”

It’s possible that the Rams didn’t buy a ticket, and that they floated the story to Steve Wyche of NFL.com in order to advance a ruse aimed at getting Commanders owner Daniel Snyder to offer St. Louis a boatload of picks or players to move up to No. 2.

But if they went the extra step and actually purchased the ticket — even if they aren’t really interested in Sanchez — they could be in trouble.

We still think the Rams don’t want Sanchez, primarily because they have bigger needs. And they have Marc Bulger.

Though we wouldn’t be completely surprised by a decision from the Rams to draft Sanchez and trade Bulger, the Rams don’t need to take a bonus acceleration to help get to the salary floor; they currently have only $10 million in cap space, which puts them above the 2009 spending minimum.

I hope this is true...

What gives?

The Rams don't have a private team jet to wisk new draftees around in?

Cheapskates.

Yeah, they're looking to clown some team in trading up for that 2nd round pick.

Hope it's Washington.

Huge bluff.

hey wouldnt it be super if this is true and the nfl commissioner takes away the rams, say their # 2 draft choice and maybe their 5th or so.

that way instead of us picking at 51, we would pick at 50.

Anyone think they could of just bought an open ticket to leave from LA to Stl. It does not have to have Marks name on it. People are so gullable.

most likely it was a bluff HomeofLegends to get some team to make the big trade for him; but the rams organization has done some dumb things before, so it could be either way, a bluff or they could have actually bought the ticket, but like you said, you can buy a plane ticket, and it doesnt have to have sanchez' name on it;

so the nfl would have a hard time proving it;

Yup, I think it makes a lot of sense for them to take a QB. They won't be competitive for a while so there's no need to rush Sanchez onto the field. For the next 2 years or so they can just focus on rebuilding, keep Bulger as the starter and then, once the pieces are in place they can promote Sanchez. I wouldn't be surprised by it at all.

Dan Snyder just offered two number ones and Commanders One to the Rams for the number 2 overall pick.

I bought a plane ticket for Jessica Alba three years ago. It's still at the airport.

poor TMZ guys who were probobly hanging around waiting for her for hours... you cruel cruel man!

I don't want the Commanders to get Sanchez. I'd like for them to be stuck with Campbell. But if they bluff them into moving that far up to get him I will crack up laughing.

I'd like to see them move up just for the sheer amount of picks it'll probably set them back. They need more than just a QB. If they stand pat with Campbell, they may be good enough to make a run with they holes they can fill.

You just know they will fire Zorn after this year. Set the QB back. It will be a disaster.
