hey, im pretty sure that mario williams has more sacks than bush has TDs, he is starting to come along. i think it would have been a huge mistake to pick a utility player like bush first overall, specially when they knew they were gonna suck no matter what and be in position to take a REAL running back in adrian peterson!!!

Shoot....I'm still waiting on Bush to do something that merited the pub he got prior to the season.

Exactly.

The last piece to the puzzle is usually the RB. Granted Bush will be a great one, but a chance at Peterson will probably be worth the wait.

Ultimately I feel they will regret not taking Vince Young.

He woulda sold more Texans jerseys than Bush.

I am not a big UT fan but any player delivering a national championship to my home state? Yes thats a jersey I woulda worn proudly.

Bush is a mememe guy(shown in his cash dealings as an amatuer; tho I seriously applaud his humanitarian efforts after getting the huge deal done in NO) who was and has been overhyped. He makes huge plays but is a bit fragile and is probably not ever more than a part time player. I still believe he was around a 10-15 type pick, not first overall.

Vince has shown a lot of overall ability already and plays a position where Carr was benched today.

Not sure if Leinart, Young or the kid in Denver will be better long term but all of them woulda been better gambles than Mario Williams who was a workout phrenom, IMHO.

The Texans were going to regret anything other than a trade down but just couldn't get the deal done.

They should regret not trading down, owners would of given up their first born to get their hands on Bush before the draft.

Best post in the thread, i love it when people actually respond to the question instead of continually jeer someone for the typing ability.

For a guy taken #2 overall, and for a guy that got soooo much publicity as being the next great thing for the NFL, I would have expected more than the following:

Week 1: 15 rushes 67 yards 7 receptions 52 yards
Week 2: 6 rushes 5 yards 8 receptions 68 yards
Week 3: 13 rushes 53 yards 4 receptions 19 yards
Week 4: 11 rushes 22 yards 4 receptions 48 yards
Week 5: 9 rushes 23 yards 11 receptions 63 yards
Week 6: 11 rushes 26 yards 4 receptions 35 yards.

Rushing wise....he's just not getting it done. But they really aren't using him as a #1 RB....which being taken #2 overall and with all of the pub he should be used as a #1 RB.....65 rushes for 196 yards.

Receiving wise....he's done better there as I don't know of another team that is throwing to their RB more....38 total receptions for 285 yards.

Eventually, to live up to the hype that he has received, he is going to have to be a better RUNNING back.
