Again and again we hear about the original triplets. We loved them and they loved right back by giving us three NFL championships.
But will we ever again witness a trio who come together at an early point in their career and find that same amount of success for the Dallas Cowboys.
Are Tony Romo, Roy Williams and, no it's not the name you thought I would be writing in here, Tashard Choice the 'New Triplets'?
Tony Romo. He's still very young and last I checked Aikman didn't even come close to beginning his career as such a fast pace so you can't say it's impossible that Romo doesn't have as much success as #8 did during his days in Dallas.
Roy Williams. He reminds me of Irvin. He's big, has great hands and likes being physical with defenders. No idea if he has the heart and desire to win like Irvin did, but just looking at them play the game I do see some similarities. Not loving his media skills at the moment but that's for another discussion.
Tashard Choice. Why did you put him in here and not MBIII? Because Choice reminds me more of Emmitt than MBIII does. Choice falls forward, makes quick cuts and makes himself small when running inside to avoid defenders. That's the things Emmitt did and we all know he did them so well it led to him becoming the NFL's All Time Rushing leader. And I love MBIII, so don't think I don't and jump all over me for this designation of Choice. You may even choose him in your 'New Triplets' and maybe even more fans would agree with that scenario playing itself out.
Do you guys think there can ever be a set of 'Triplets' ever again? Or is it a once in a lifetime occurence where for a few seasons one team can argue about having the best WR, RB and QB in the game playing for the same team?
