Are These Three The 'New Triplets'?

Again and again we hear about the original triplets. We loved them and they loved right back by giving us three NFL championships.

But will we ever again witness a trio who come together at an early point in their career and find that same amount of success for the Dallas Cowboys.

Are Tony Romo, Roy Williams and, no it's not the name you thought I would be writing in here, Tashard Choice the 'New Triplets'?

Tony Romo. He's still very young and last I checked Aikman didn't even come close to beginning his career as such a fast pace so you can't say it's impossible that Romo doesn't have as much success as #8 did during his days in Dallas.

Roy Williams. He reminds me of Irvin. He's big, has great hands and likes being physical with defenders. No idea if he has the heart and desire to win like Irvin did, but just looking at them play the game I do see some similarities. Not loving his media skills at the moment but that's for another discussion.

Tashard Choice. Why did you put him in here and not MBIII? Because Choice reminds me more of Emmitt than MBIII does. Choice falls forward, makes quick cuts and makes himself small when running inside to avoid defenders. That's the things Emmitt did and we all know he did them so well it led to him becoming the NFL's All Time Rushing leader. And I love MBIII, so don't think I don't and jump all over me for this designation of Choice. You may even choose him in your 'New Triplets' and maybe even more fans would agree with that scenario playing itself out.

Do you guys think there can ever be a set of 'Triplets' ever again? Or is it a once in a lifetime occurence where for a few seasons one team can argue about having the best WR, RB and QB in the game playing for the same team?

what has roy even done?

Not much. But I hope he has something in that tank.

The kid is getting a load of money.

I was more basing on his skill set as a WR.

You don't think he runs quirky like Irvin did? Has great hands like Irvin? And has the physical gifts?

i would sa witten is more worthy of being in a tripletes conversation. and barber.

that being said theres only 1 tripletes. aikman emmitt and irvin.

Oh, without a doubt....

But I think we are trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

Aikman, Smith, Irvin = 3 HOFers

We've got.... Owens who'll be a HOFer (and on the downside of his career), Witten (who probably be HOF worthy when his career is over)...... and.... ?

ROFL.

So because I don't see anyone else on our offense as a future HOFer... I'm hating.

ROFL.

Clearly, the only two guys right now who are on that path are Owens and likely Witten (assuming he keeps his current play up for several more years, which he probably will).

And I'll make cut Romo threads the minute we get a better Qb than him.

Which, will be next year.... when we get Tebow.

Wow. Roy has done squat, and Choice is 3rd string RB.

Roy has always had the physical gifts, but his work ethic and heart have been questioned. Choice is what he is, a gifted young rook buried deep on the depth chart.

There are no more "Triplets", it is going to take a whole team to generate that type of post season success. The sooner the Cowboys as an organization figure that out, the sooner they can start winning it all again.

The Triplets do not come along every generation. That is why they were so special. Forget the "Triplets", I want this team concentrating on the "Magnificent Eleven" from here on out.

Wow.

A non-TO, TO thread.

:laugh2:

Are these our top 3... blah blah blah.... no I dont mean that other guy. I just created this thread to exclude him.

Aint it cool.

Yeah, but the guys I mentioned have plenty to time to come together.

The Triplets were the Triplets until they became the Triplets.

Know what I mean.

Yo, Mick, do you ever post anything these days that doesn't mock a TO thread?

Oh, I agree.

Romo and Williams have plenty of time to grow into that...

I think Witten deserves that label more so than Roy as of now. Witten has had 3 years of 900 + yards. IIRC, Roy has 1. Witten's also done it from the TE position, which is a lot more impressive, too.

Just could't leave the thread alone huh?

The TFC is killing CZ slowly but surely.

I hope the owner, the mods and the posters are taking notice.

This is the only similarity I see at the moment:

And Tony is pushing 30, so "very young" might be a tad generous.

Tebow, lol.

He's not going to be a good NFL QB.
