First off, Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah to everyone at CowboysZone. Hopefully you all are spending this day with your loved ones and enjoying every minute.

But about this topic I'm about to address. What the heck has happened to the Panthers fans? I went over to their Scout board only to see the board flooded with verbal thrashings of the refs, Roy Williams, Julius Jones, etc.,

A few posters out and out hoped Roy's career was over when he came up limping. The whole incident that happened on the sideline when Smith was tossed they blamed on Roy. Some suggested Roy kicked Smith and that caused the problem. I personally seen nothing of the kind, but they suggested it happened and kept referring to Roy as a cheap shot artist, a punk and some hoped he got horse collared and his leg broke. I was appauled at that, but it got worse.

A few others stated they were sending in letters and e-mails to the league. One went as far as to post the league office number in NYC trying to get others to call in.

Now I can see a few here and there having their complaints. It happens on every board, but this was the majority of their fan base with the same complaints and statements.

Normally, I have ALOT of respect for Carolina fans, especially when it comes to college basketball, but the way they reacted to yesterdays game was unbelievable.

I could only think to myself the whole time while reading their complaints about the refs is why couldn't they do something about making Torrin Tucker and Andre Gurode look like All-Pro's yesterday, rather than talking about officiating.

That whole board reminded me alot of ES after the debacle in Tampa earlier this year. Rather pathetic, especially seeing it come from another fanbase.

I have zero respect for Carolina basketball after both Duke and UNC were the only ones to cowardly vote against Syracuse coming to the Big East because they were too scared of getting their arses handed to them in front of 33,000 fans at the Carrier Dome. That and they were afraid Syracuse would start getting more southeast bball recruits.

Why should I expect anything else from their football fans?

Rich.......

Whatever. The players ran into the kicker. That's a penalty. One of them may have touched the ball, but there was no indisputable evidence in the replay to show otherwise. In fact, I've looked at it several times and have yet to see any sort of possible deflection. Maybe you guys letting JJ run almost 200 yards on you was the problem? You guys were up 10-0 after we turned it over at our own 25 yard line. Score one more TD and we're out of it. This game wasn't play after play of bad officiating. Get over it.

Coming back from 10-0 impressed me some, but what really impressed me was the Cowboys earning a first down after a hold and an illegal procedure penaltie,,, with a screen play no less! Whoa~!! that's when I knew they had a chance.

Bitter 'Cuse fan, eh?

Sorry, but I have to correct you on a few points.

First off, when has Syracuse ever been a recruiting power? Much less, when has UNC and dook not got their share of basketball recruits? Heck, look at dook's class last year and UNC's class this year. Just plain ridiculous.

Secondly, the vote had nothing to do with UNC and dook. The vote during expansion passed with 7 of 9 votes. UNC and dook were not the only ones to be opposed. Heck, UNC and dook were opposed from the beginning when talks of expansion came about. When the vote came about for expansion, UNC and dook voted NO before teams even brought into the equation for voting.

Virginia voted yes only on the notion that VA Tech be included (which was radically supported by Governor Mark Warner). At that time, the talk was Miami, BC and Syracuse being the supposed proposed teams to come to the ACC. Virginia brought the idea of VA Tech into the ACC, not UNC and not dook.

Think of it this way, Miami is a HUGE money deal to the ACC. They are what the whole expansion idea was based around, of course they were going to bring them. If they didn't bring VA Tech, the whole expansion idea had to be scrapped. So they brought along VA Tech which is a big money deal as well. The last vote came down to 'Cuse and BC in which every president from an ACC voted to bring Boston College in.

The expansion of the ACC conference was done for simply a football perspective. Nothing more, nothing less. The ACC wanted a conference championship game to produce large money.

If you have some venom to spew, it should be directed at VA Governor Mark Warner more than any NC school.

Lastly, I do have to laugh at the fact that it would bother a NC school to play in the Carrier Dome, especially UNC. Go down to Cameron and look at the gargoyles and the officiating bias, not to mention the noise and compare that to the Carrier Dome.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Watch the replays, Ro slipped going out of bounds and accidently nudges Smith. It was barely and totally unintentional, but it looks like Roy does kick him a little. Nothing to get steamed about though. I think he was more pissed at ewman for riding him out of bounds.

The point is that whether he had cause to be upset or not, it's no excuse for touching the ref.
