I know this is probably blowing things out of proportion. But the fact that our top 3 draft picks are out with injuries and 4 of our 7 total picks are out really bothers me. After all the injuries to last years draft class I am beginning to wonder if we are cursed. We finally get to a point where we are contenders and we get 2 stud draft picks thqt look like they can contribute right out the gates and then bam. Both are injured causing them miss critical time for learning and development that would prepare them to play early this season.

Did jerry make a deal with devil for the 3 SB's in the 90's???

Quite possibly (Jerry probably originally offered his soul, but since Beelzebub was already held the lein on it.....)

The NFL is just brutal, and that's why it's a combination of a team's skill plus lack of injuries that so often determines their fate.

But this too is why the depth that we have at so many positions matters. Dez is hurt, for a little while, but we still have Miles. Ogletree is nice depth. We now cash in the insurance policy that is Crayton. OK, Roy was almost like an injury at least last year, but it gives another prospect a chance to show his stuff in the preseason.

The high ankle sprain is a temporary setback, not a curse.

Yes, we have a curse. It's because Mike Jenkins and Marion Barber with the dreadlocks were doing some Voodoo stuff when we visited New Orleans. Sure.

I actually expected this to happen because that's how bad it's been.

- Bryant hasn't played football in a year. Nagging injuries (especially hammies) were going to be part of the deal. It just stinks that this one will take months to heal.

- Lee was injury prone. That dropped his stock which allowed Dallas to draft him. He's also undersized and plays in a 3-4, a tough combination.

- AOA was also already injured when Dallas drafted him. There is no surprise there.

I am most disappointed with Lee, not the player but in the team for drafting him. They increased their chances of injuries multi-fold by drafting an injury-prone guy and giving up an extra 4th round pick in a very deep draft to get him. They already traded up for Bryant, trading up for Lee put too many eggs in injury-prone baskets.

True both Dez and Lee will eventually be back probably no later than the 2nd game for Dez. But there Is no doubt that the time they miss will set back their development. They're promising rookies who were looking to play a significant role for this team right out the gate. Instead, we will have Jason Williams who Is struggling taking over the nickel spot and Crayton taking over the 3 wr position. I see this as a downgrade for the team based on the sheer talent alone. But that talent will still need time to develop even after their injuries heal.

Better yet, how about conducting training camp on real grass?

na Tex and Tom Landry did it for 30 years...I dont think it worked too well [/sarcasm]

Jerry cant say crap about injuries after moving training camp to the Alamo dome, which increases the odds for injury exponentially

Absolutely. Did you not get that memo 15 years ago? Must've fallen off your desk or something.

Would you rather it had happened during the season or now????It's not its a sprain he'll be out for 4 to 6 weeks and by Dez's attitude and approach i give him a shorter time than that. If you look at the vid he walked but he prefered the help he young hopefully he'll recupurate fast....GO DEZ!!!!GO COWBOYS!!!

This is ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.

No kidding. Let's blame artificial turf for a freak accident. It's not like Dez tore a knee ligament making a cut. Or blew out his achilles. Scandrick fell on him.

This was not a turf injury, it was a force injury.

It would not have mattered if they were playing on 6" thick burmuda grass, when a guy rolls up your leg something is going to give.

well, we knew one of them would be like this... and Lee is back very soon.

no this probably wasnt a turf injury....but holding practice on such a surface certainly increases the odds of injuries happening

Yeah dude we're cursed. You need to sacrifice a kitten for Allah.
