Just wondering if we are done in FA? Don't know who is our there that we could bring in but I would like to add a vet CB and someone to challenge Proctor at center.

Newman, Jenkins, Scandrick, Ball, Mikens are our corners right now. Last year we kept 6. Don't know if they plan to use D. Smith at both CB and safety.

Thats what I was alluding to just didn't want to mention names. They will probably see how things go with minicamps etc. first.
Marvin Harrison, anyone?
:welcome:

.....and, no. I still think he would want too much money, and that is why no one is interested in him. He left a super bowl contender because he didn't want to lower his salary.

If the Boys don't trade or cut Greg Ellis, this is the roster they'll be taking to camp... they're at 79 players now, with one slot still reserved for the winner of Irvin's reality show...

Of course, there are UDRFAs at the bottom of the roster who could easily be cut if the Boys wanted to make a move, but I suspect most if not all of their remaining cap room will be reserved for signing Demarcus Ware...

Why do we need a vet CB? Newman is THE vet CB. He's like 31.

Why? What big names are out there that we simply can't go anywhere without?

I think the general feeling is that after Newman, Jenkins, and Scandrick we do not have a proven CB.

Alan Ball, Courtney Brown, Mike Mickens, Michael Hawkins, possibly DeAngelo Smith

I wouldn't hate it if we brought in a veteran like Mike McKenzie for a season.

My feeling is outside of Newman, no one is proven.

They have some nice players with potential and upside, but there is no solid guy that you can say is going to step up and make the secondary the best.

Sorry, your pos tkinda doesn't make sense. What exactly is the difference between a solid cb and some nice players with potential and upside? IMO one of the reasons the Boys traded Henry was the confidence Jerry and the coaches have in Scandrick and Jenkins, and Ball as well.

I was hoping to get a veteran CB before the Draft, but given that we've drafted 2 guys who can play CB, I don't think we're going to pick up a veteran CB.

As for the NT position, I think we're going with Ratliff and Siavii (sp?). So I doubt we pick up someone other than potentially camp fodder. I was really hoping we could get Roy Miller in the Draft to rotate between NT/DE, but I get the feeling the staff thought that the DL position was pretty weak this year.

Heck, we didn't even pick up anyone with the UDFAs at that position.

As for WR, I wouldn't rule out a veteran. But it won't be anyone expensive. But I still think JJ wants Austin, Hurd, Stanback, etc. to play.
