With Jerry Jones as GM of the Dallas Cowboys, how excited are we about the upcoming draft? After all, the teams he's built over the last 17 seasons have gone exactly .500. Know of any other GMs that would last 4 seasons batting .500? Didn't think so.

I've been a die hard Cowboys fan since 1965, when I was 10 years old. I've seen the very best & very worst this team has had to offer. Don't have much hair left to pull out. I guess I got so spoiled by the first 30 seasons, that it has made it that much harder to endure the last 17.

It would be different if the owner knew enough about football to know how much he doesn't know, but that's not the case. Any owner who thinks he can hire himself at the most critical position on the team has a fool for an employer. Starting now, I will not purchase ANYTHING Cowboys related until Jerry Jones hires a real General Manager. Here is a link to a site dedicated to forcing JJ's hand. If you are tired of the losing play, and the horrible salary cap management, along with the mediocre talent acquisition, please click here & sign the petition. https://www.***BLOCKED***/petitions...wboys-hire-a-gm-and-stay-out-of-the-way#share

Yes, an online petition with 25 votes is most certainly going to "force" JJ's hand. Good call.

Talk about arbitrary time-scales. You skipped the 3 superbowls he won in the past 20 years.

See how working with an agenda affects an outcome?

Very excited to get in some new players and if as they have over the last 3 drafts I expect we will get some quality players out of the draft. No doubt in the 17 years you are talking about we have had some bad drafts that have hurt us and some trades that cost us. You can't reverse it, it is done and finished what they can do is continue to draft as they have over the last 3 season and pickup FA like Carr when the oppertunity is there.

I'm not one who dwells in the past only interested in what they do now.

Probably best to look at the more relevant last 2-3 years in the draft room if you wish to gain any optimism.

I bet you Jerry Jones knows more about football than you do.
I know, right?

I never defend Jerry, but sometimes it just get's silly.

He was co-captain of a national champion football team at Arkansas.

He has been involved in the NFL at the very highest level for the last 30 years. He has been surrounded by some of the best midns inthe game at times. If you were in any other field that did not require a degree to get into (but instead experience) he would be over qualified by now.

This is NOT saying I approve of his performance as GM. In fact, I wish he would step down and just be owner.
Just saying, I think he knows an awful lot about the game.
As we know here, you can have people that now the game but have entirely different takes on a game or player.

I've been a fan for over 30 years and I have never been less interested in the Cowboys than I am now. Jerry Jones has killed much of the passion I had for Dallas. Haven't been to a game in years, and don't plan to go. Haven't bought a single piece of Cowboy gear or jersey in years and don't plan to. I find myself watching Redzone more than I do Cowboy games. Don't even bother with Sunday ticket any longer, if I miss a Cowboy game, doesn't bother me. Don't even have that sick feeling in my stomach when they lose anymore, or that frustrated anger. Thanks, Jerry.

I guess I'm not a true fan, not by Cowboys zone homer standards. The sort who isn't bothered when a drunk Jones brags about suckering fans into voting to build him a stadium. The sort who builds up a false optimism no matter how stale and mediocre the team is. Instead of being in love with the team, I mostly look at it with amusement now, wondering what sort of stupidity Jones will shovel our way next. I can't even get angry over the team any longer. Of course, Jones doesn't care, for now. He has enough corporate $ and fans who were suckered into committing for seat licenses that he can afford to lose my business, in the short term.

According to an article on nfl dot com there is nothing to be excited about! Lol it says we a flat out the worst team in the nfc east alone. And have yet to fix any of the major holes in our team and we went about fixing the coaching all wrong! Most of the article does seem acurrate though. At least they wont say we under achieved this year.
