Are We Going To Keep Pretending That Tony Pollard Shouldn't Be The Main RB?

It's not even close between the two. Pollard should get more carries because he's a better run er who actually helps us score. Zeke will be useful in a relief role.

The fact that we all see it and the coaches (read: Jerry) don't is mindboggling

Yeah, Hankins was a good pickup but sadly I think the clown show will not do any more to fix the Run D.
Not sure I can make it through it if they bring this Beckham lunatic here for 20m per then refuse to pay a real DT for half that.

We could sign the top two DTs in any off-season for what Beckham reportedly wants in AAV.

Let’s see what these clowns end up doing….but I don’t think a WR fixes what went on yesterday…and really all season.

Zeke - 109 carries, 443 yards, 4 TDs, 4 YPA, 6 catches for 32 yards.
Pollard - 103 carries, 621 yards, 6 TDs, 6 YPA, 15 catches for 134 yards.

Zeke - 0 100-yard rushing games.
Pollard - 3 100-yard rushing games.

Zeke - 16 attempts per game for 63 yards per game.
Pollard -11 attempts per game for 69 yards per game.

Let's stop playing here and give Pollard the 16 attempts per game and Zeke the 11 attempts. That needs to flip. The offense will be better off for it. Heck, I even like what Davis is doing out there.

Also, for the "Pollard can't carry the load" folks. He had 22 rushing attempts yesterday. That ties Zeke's highest amount of the season in 1 game.

Even more astounding is the following:

Zeke (7 games this season): 109 carries, 443 yards, 4 TDs, 4 YPA, 6 catches for 32 yards.

Pollard (last 2 games as starter): 36 carries 246 yards 4 td's 6.83 ypa 4 catches 29 yards

So with 33% of the carries that Zeke has had all season, Pollard has 56% of the yards and an almost 3 ypa higher rating than Zeke in just 2 games.......

There is no doubt that Pollard needs to start next week vs. Minny regardless of Zeke's health.

I was just waiting for Jerry to spout out something like "once Zeke gets back everything will change" type of BS after the game yesterday.

Dak and Zeke are your guys, Ronnie.

We know you could never quit them. This thread for the logical fans.
What's logical about a TPollard comparison with Zeke (who didn't play) in the LOSS? When TPollard gets the amount of carries, wear & tear, or lead the league, perhaps a comparison would be worthy. Right now they are teammates and Zeke has been a good teammate given the heat he gets on a regular basis.

I'd ask.....where was this discussion when JWitt returned to take Blake Jarwin's playing time? Just sayin'.

Expect the "Everything runs through Zeke" statement because Jerry knows that if Pollard keeps performing like he does then Pollard will price himself right out of Dallas next season unless Dallas franchise tags him and cuts Zeke (the 2022 franchise tag for RB's was $9.5M and Zeke has $11.8M in dead money for 2023 so if released as June 1st cap hit that is $5.9M in dead money for '23 and '24;if traded all $11.8M hits the '23 cap....and with Dallas having to possibly restructure Dak's deal it leads to all sorts of crap)

One can easily make a comparison between the 2 players (Pollard and Zeke) as they are both running back playing for the same team at the same time period.....just because Zeke is older, has more carries logged, and has a much higher salary simply adds to the debate as to who should be starting.

The fact is Pollard had 22 carries vs. GB, the highest for him this season and matches Zeke's high....but Pollard is doing much more of his carries than Zeke has done because Pollard is simply a more explosive back right now.

well to be fair KM dont know how to use any of them but valid observation nonetheless
I am more of a "It's Jerry's fault and doesn't matter who the coach is" guy but this is the one departure we need. Kellen Moore needs to go. He's not a real NFL OC.

As long as Jerry is the GM the highest paid RB will be the starter.

I knew salary would come into play. That might be why LVE gets immunity in comparison to Jaylon Smith's days. I wonder why TPollard has to be praised at the expense of putting Zeke down. And as you say.....they are playing on the same team at the same time......thus teammates. But in the end.....when Zeke is out next year (and we know that will happen)......watch our OC "ruin" (lack of runs, baffling play calls, taken out at the wrong time) TPollard fast. Mark it down.

I’m glad we wasted 3 years of Pollard and now with glaring evidence, still don’t start him over Zeke. Our Brain trust is elite!!

I don't care at all about the wear and tear on Zeke.

That's even more reason to make Pollard the main back as far as I'm concerned. He's the fresher guy without all the wear and tear from years past.

I'm not saying Pollard will have a better career than Zeke. I'm saying Pollard, right now, is easily the better player.

I'm in the camp of playing the best players. I'm not in the camp of playing the higher paid guys that used to be better.

At this point we need all three of them to run the ball effectively and play keep away as best we can.

This run defense is atrocious and it needs to be kept on the sidelines as much as possible.

It can’t possibly be fixed until the off-season, and even then they will probably just ignore it again because the draft didn’t fall that way.

They need TWO solid proven veteran run stoppers and some money needs to be spent on at least one of them. Not dudes on their fourth team on the wrong side of 30.

A fast and tough LB is needed as well.

- From Stephen " Moneyball " you'll get the usual FA vet bargains with Carlos Watkins type guys .. and then we'll invest late rounder Bohanna types in the NFL draft.

- It's a certain degree and position that Stephen & Co. will only invest in, per low value.
1tech and safeties are two of them.

- I believe they envisioned Cox as being an investment, (per 2nd rd grade value) .. but that appears outta here.
They thought LVE could come cheap bargain deal. ..and we know how he plays vs run.

- Anthony Barr has been a disappointment, a mere shell of his former Vikes form, plus he's injured now.
BTW, - If vet Barr were healthy, would we have seen Parsons as an off ball LB ?
Be interested to see what rookie Damone Clark by season's end.

-They need to revamp their DL with run defenders, as there's both DTs and certainly RDE's struggling mightily vs run.
as a nickel rusher i really do like Sam I Am Williams.
