Interesting statistics. It certainly shows that we're often pretty darn good at the start of seasons.

It was an insult meant to highlight our futility in December and beyond. Even if they (Wilbon?) substituted October or December, the implication would remain the same.

Interesting stats.

Just curious ... no games in February?

I know that. I still wanted to know.

Seems to me that the Cowboys historically have gotten off to good starts, especially in the Landry years. As a kid, i remember the boys getting off to 5-0, 4-1 5-1 starts, and then hitting rough patches in the middle of the season and then ending a usually positive note.

But playoff teams usually win a bulk of the games early in the season and ride that momentum into the playoffs.

Miami's loss Sunday and our win last night moved us ahead of them % wise to first on the all time list.

Miami is at .578
Chicago is at .577

Dallas is now at .579. That means best all time win % in the Regular season and overall.

We all know that the Cowboys were a September - November team in 2007. We did win the first game in December with a great last minute drive by Romo with no time outs remaining for a come from behind victory over the Lions to go to 12-1. Actually I thought we played our best after our bye week (occurred after our 7th regular season game), when we beat the Eagles, Giants, Skins, Jets (Thanksgiving) followed by a big win over the Packers--all in November.

I think the September record could be attributable to the way that Landry prepared the team to start the season. Dallas' opening day record under Landry was exceptional.

Boy Oakland has really tumbled. It was a little sad to see Davis look so bad. I ran to the bathroom and did a quick survey just to make sure my reflection still looked so good.
