I think we win the division. I think we will go to the playoffs. As far as contending for a SB, not even close, its a shame, 52 of the 53 are good to go,, just one position is holding this team hostage.

Son, if you really believe the Cowboys can win the division I'd lay down some cash on it.

I used to allow myself a degree of hope or excitement each year. No playoff success for decades now.

Then the Dak extension without any idea of how he'd move post injury... Then SF1 embarrassment, nothing changed ... Then SF2 embarrassment, nothing changed... Then GB happened, inexplicably nothing changed... Then it looked like we might be moving on from Dak, signed him to the highest deal ever for real reason... Then one the league's worst red zone teams last year, they try to resign the play caller, MM... Then they make the journeyman offensive coordinator who's never won anything or excited anyone the new HC...

I'm done with hope. I'm done expecting anything positive. I'll start buying back in .. a little.. when we win 2 playoff games in a row or hire an actual GM to actually be in the GM role, fully.

I'll watch it all and check this site 5-10 times a day, even in the dregs of the off-season because, well, I guess I'm addict/glutton for punishment, but I'm done believing until the team shows me or the FO shows me otherwise.

You're hoping to see some glimmer of hope...some enlightenment you didn't consider. Some real NEWS of unusual moves or progress. Or some sort of humor that helps deal with the lack of it all.

Why must pointing out a Head Coaches inexperience and lack of being interviewed by a single other NFL team have to be labeled as hate?

I think the paintball games and slumber parties are really quite nice

I always have some hope. But hope is not a strategy as the saying goes. IMO, this team as currently constructed, is a marginal playoff contender with more questions than answers.

I want them to win. Will I buy what this team is selling? No. Not until they prove they are not what they’ve been for 3 decades.

Selling. The draft, OTA euphoria will die down as soon as we get into the season. I like some of the moves, especially Sanders, Milton and Booker. But we are still thin in too many other areas. And Dakota is still a choke, only now he is a choke with a history of major injuries. We will win no playoff games with him at QB1. None.

I was quite interested in this off-season. I had one real thing that I asked and that was I wanted Brian Schottenheimer, the offensive coordinator, fired. Mentioned that in some thread on the board

And that wish did not age well...

I really like the draft, I like the Milton pick up. I would like Pickens a lot.. a lot of I felt as though we were 1-2 players away, knocking at the door.

I have not seen him do anything yet, but play grab butt all over the place. The only thing missing is the clapping, but I would not count that out.

I see one narrow road where this season goes well (all our highly-paid players stay healthy and play up to their talents), and a lot more possibilities where it goes off the rails and Schotty loses the locker room.

This season gives me 2011 Jason Garrett, 2020 Mike McCarthy vibes. New coach, everyone already knows he's another Jerry puppet, everyone knows we have a "studs and duds" roster that isn't ready to contend yet.

And like I've posted before, most sane humans should be skeptical of the Schottenheimer selection because of inexperience at the position and not being coveted by a single other NFL team.

However, its entirely POSSIBLE the man may be the next Vince Lombardi and I'm open to that.

It's almost a requirement that we can't hire a good coach. They have to be pliant to Jerry first and foremost, and great coaches with other offers don't want to deal with that.

Ben Johnson won't take a coaching job under Jerry. Brian Schottenheimer will, because it's the only HC offer he'll ever get in his life.
