I am Buying lol , mainly due to the HC and his effect on the players, and the staff he hired.
They are short on talent, and shaky in some areas, but I am hoping to see a totally different offense,
and on defense, I have no idea.
SB no, Div round win maybe if all goes well.
Mainly expecting around 10-7 and to make the playoffs.

Im selling

-We are counting on reclamation projects, and late round picks at LB and HB. The areas could wind up liabilities.

-Our CB depth is razor thin, our Nickel CB could wind up being a guy that wouldn't make half the rosters in the NFL.

-Our run defense is very suspect, and could neutralize what could be a very good pass rush.

-OT's are very suspect

I think we will probably be a playoff contending team. 9-8 or 10-7. However, what I listed above I believe will make it very difficult to beat good teams, and limit our ceiling
i agree with this 100% i also think this team has the same problems.

If the question was, are the Cowboys a playoff team? With no other implications, I'd buy in.

Son, if you really believe the Cowboys can win the division I'd lay down some cash on it.

They are going at +600, so a $1000 wager will make you $6000 profit.
Yeah I saw that. Only bottom feeders have worse odds. The Panthers and Colts have a better chance at winning their division than the Cowboys according to sports books. I think it has more to do with who is in our division. But still, 6-1 odds are pretty good. In my gambling days, I might have thrown a 100 at it.

We're only +180 to make the playoffs. Still bleak, but not terrible.

For a restaurant comparison where the crap teams are like Burger King and Roy Rogers. The Cowboys are a step up to like Chili's or Five Guys. I don't know if you want to call that quality.

The current version of the Dallas Cowboys is saturated with questionable circumstances. Between the new coaches who are somewhat unfamiliar with the players, some of the players, themselves, are questionable as to their health circumstances. Several of our players are new to the team, itself.

This team, as a whole, might be better than last year, but that's actually not saying much. I'm feeling fairly confident that this team still lacks the level of quality that is needed to win their division.

There are too many lingering questions to be answered, as things now stand. Maybe next year they'll be better if that offseason is equally as successful as this one was. We're getting closer.
Yes, and even if the team is a slightly better version of itself we have to consider our competition .

The Eagles dove deep into free agency and the Eagles actively attempted to replace lost players.

The present Cowboys have alot of questions but the answers will come forth very slowly.....

Acquiring Pickens was a beautiful thing but its not enough. The majority of aquisitions won't move the needle based on what those players have shown in the NFL......the rookies are an unknown.
I couldn't agree more. I think we need quality starters (don't care if it's FA, Draft, Trades, etc.) at DT (two, not just one that can stop the run), we need better LB play at stopping the run. We need better starters as Safety. The focus needs to be away from just the pass rush and turn overs because quality teams just pound the rock.

On offense, we need another WR for depth and to push the 3rd and 2nd WRs. I think we need a better RT and even better LT. I don't think Guyton is going to be a good enough LT, but hope I"m wrong. We need 1 really good RB to step up early in the season. I was happy to see Dowdle last year step up, but seems to me that came too late. When I think about it, we don't run the ball or stop the run and seemingly seem more interested in the splash positions (WR, DE, CB, etc..) now don't get me wrong you need but if you can't stop the run, having great skill players means nothing and on offense if you can't protect your QB or open holes you will have an average at best team.

Now will the new staff do something great and try new things? Not sure, not hopeful, but that's why they play the games.

Sell this all day, they have done nothing to change my mind that I should buy. We continue to invest our salary cap in offense that we then ask the defense to be elite when that offense doesn't keep up with scoring of other team. Many will look at empty stats and continue to blame the defense not realizing that stats don't show zero points or field goals to opposing teams touchdowns for majority of first half. We need a run defense and a eagle type defense to compete with our deer in the headlight QB.

You gotta sell.

Run offense will be poor, forcing Dak to throw more than he should. Bad tackles will have him in headlights mode all season. Ceedee and Pickens will throw fits.

Run defense will be bottom tier. That will neutralize the pass rush and put the suspect secondary under immense pressure. Micah will throw fits.
