Sell this all day, they have done nothing to change my mind that I should buy. We continue to invest our salary cap in offense that we then ask the defense to be elite when that offense doesn't keep up with scoring of other team. Many will look at empty stats and continue to blame the defense not realizing that stats don't show zero points or field goals to opposing teams touchdowns for majority of first half. We need a run defense and a eagle type defense to compete with our deer in the headlight QB.
That has been an alarming pattern. When we get punched first, this team struggles to move the ball. Many times you can tell the game is over before halftime.

I feel like we are a playoff team if Dak stays healthy. Probably won't go far but that's my gut right now........

One other thing......just think what could happen if one of our rb's breaks out and goes for about 1400? I guess im trying to say that right now there is no way to know how good we'll be.

What if a couple had over 1000? I think your point is the same. If we can run the football we can have an explosive offense, protect our weaknesses on defense and get into the playoffs. The run game is a big key to how well we do

I think we win the division. I think we will go to the playoffs. As far as contending for a SB, not even close, its a shame, 52 of the 53 are good to go,, just one position is holding this team hostage.
Win the division. Dallas is only better than Philly at the DE position. That’s it! I really don’t see Dallas being better than Philly or DC.

This year is gonna be a down year with some exciting things for the future mixed in.

After Dak fails and gets hurt again this year ........ hopefully the Jones will start looking for his replacement and spend some REAL draft capital.

Big time sell.

Do I think they actually made an effort to get better? Yes. But I'm still thinking Dak isn't long for this game and they still hired a guy down the hall for a head coach.

I'm buying right now, you just never know what may happen. As of right now, I'm liking what I've seen from this first time head coach that every cowboy fan hates.
It's because you crave comfort and mediocrity like most Cowboy fans.

The Cowboys should have signed Nick Chubb to fortify their depth at the RB position. Unfortunately, he been signed by the Texans. Williams has been far less than promising to be an adequate contender for the starting RB position in his OTA exploits thus far. That leaves the C'boys in a highly precarious position to field a capable running game, in time for the season's start.

That, in and of itself, leaves the starting RB position in serious question. Whether or not Mafah will be ready to assume that responsibility or not remains to be seen. That's surely not a proactive way for the upcoming season to begin at the RB position. It doesn't bode well for a team to contend.

At this point in time, he's surely a gamble to be adequately prepared to assume that responsibility once the season begins. It simply seems to be quite a shaky way to do business.

It is really nice to enter a season with low expectations and end up being pleasantly surprised. It is a bummer to have sky hope hopes and then the team really disappoints. I have learned to be at best cautiously optimistic at best about any of the sports teams I follow and care about. I am not there yet but maybe I will have some optimism about the Dallas Cowboys after the preseason.

It happens, but it's rare. Last time was 2014. Not many people expected that. That D wasn't good either. Before that, 2007 surprised me. The leap they took from 2006 to 2007 was large. A lot will depend on our run game.

We improved WR2 and that's about it. This was a sub.500 team with Dak healthy last year, and it wasn't a WR2 away from contending. We have a MASH unit in the secondary and lots of question marks throughout the defense in general.
