Are you extending Pickens or Bland?

It really comes down to money and who else we're paying at that position.

I cannot see paying Lamb money to two receivers, so if Pickens wants that this will be a one-year deal.

As for Bland, some of that will depend on what they do with Diggs in 2026 and also how some of the young cornerbacks do this season with Eberflus.

What Bland did a couple of years ago was was amazing, but as I have pointed out over the last couple of years, he struggles on vertical (down field) routes. He's much better when he can play horizontally or facing the quarterback.

A very real possibility and I'm curious where you would allocate the resources.

Don't give me if the player does this this year. No kidding. Project what you think they'll do in 2025 and make a decision between the two.

Pickens I believe we can add another coming off season

I heard this same question yesterday on Cavanaugh and Broaddus’ show.

I’d pay Pickens.

Bland is too up-and-down for me, and I think that the new defensive scheme will place less of an emphasis on having star cornerbacks.

Depending on how things go this year for either, what about the possibility of letting them both go? That probably won’t happen of course but great GMs would consider it.

If Shavon Revell can develop by midseason, I might consider letting Bland walk. I might let Pickens walk too if he is just a good #2 receiver. He may command a much higher price tag than I would pay. Having the most expensive WR room in the league is not a recipe for playoff success.

Again, this won’t happen but if it did, you could use the savings to get help at positions we really need a major upgrade in talent. Like DT, LB, LT.

Finding a #2 WR is easier than finding an interior DL that can disrupt the run and pass game.

I'll revisit in 2025...

Contrary to fan opinion, it is possible to extend Both players...but for hypothetical discussion,..

I'd choose Pickens in assuming he's WR 1B,..not WR2....but a WR 1B...there's a difference.

We've had issues addressing that opposite WR from Gallup, to Tolbert ...to Mingo..and haven't that kind of threat since Cooper & Lamb..

It hasn't always been pretty (ala Kelvin Joseph) but we seemed to have s bit more success at obtainig CBs than WRs...ala Diggs, Bland,..

And recently 3rd rd draftee CB Revel was considered a first round talent, pre-ACL,
so that's a wait & see...

Both if the productivity is there.
It’s possible. But I think to do that you’d need to trade Diggs. The other option is sign Diggs, let Pickens walk and draft a guy so you get young talent at a cheap price. There’s also the option of tagging Pickens, then you could maybe trade and get something or get him for around 24 mil for another year without a long term big deal
