Are you extending Pickens or Bland?

I don't see how we can answer this question without knowing how they both play this year. It could be Bland plays mediocre and Pickens causes problem on or off the field. Then we sign neither player.

I do not think Bland will repeat his record setting year. I do no think he will meet expectations. I think for that reason they do not resign him for top money. Maybe they don't re-sign him at all.

I think Pickens will be good, but splitting opportunities with CD could diminish both player's stats. In any case, after paying CD $34 million I don't see them giving Pickens over $20 million to re-sign.

But if I had to pick one to re-sign, it would be Pickens. I do think he is better than Bland.

I'm not as big of a fan of Bland as most seem to be. He's good, but not great in coverage, despite his pick 6 record.

I think Pickens is a game changing weapon. We need more elite players in the key positions, if we want to be perennial contenders.

I would still try to keep both.

Your Jerry hate is showing.
Sometimes a Player needs a change of venue.
This will be well worth it.
Tell me it's worth it a year from now, after Dallas has missed the playoffs, when Pickens is playing for another team, and the Steelers are on the clock with Dallas's draft pick.

Odds are they sign both because in Jerry's eyes it confirms his bona fides as a talent evaluator in both drafting and trading. And odds are he over pays for both.

They all have agents.

There are no discounts.
Not expecting any discount. Why trade for a developmental QB (Lance) without controlling his rights long enough to actually try and develop him? Don't make the trade if you can't negotiate an extension. Same with Pickens. I have no problem with Pickens, it seems like he can help this team. You just can't give up that amount of draft capital for a 1-year rental. Either negotiate an extension as part of the deal, or don't give up so much draft capital.

It depends on what happens next season. Bland had that great All-Pro season in 23 but was injured last season. Bland might want $30 million a season. Could we survive with Elam, Revel, and a draft pick in 2026…..

Can Pickens open up our passing game or will he just be a giant decoy. He has Parsons agent so he will be asking for a close to CeeDee especially if he plays well.

The Cowboys might let both go depending on our record next season. I would justwait and see. Hopefully both have great seasons and we make the playoffs. Then we really can debate this.
Unless Bland has another all pro season he is unlikely to get near $30 million. Stingley is the only one making $30 million. Jaycee Horn signed for $25 million, Patrick Surtain $24 million, Jaire Alexander $21 million. Diggs signed for $19.4 and he was all pro in 2021 and had two pro bowl years.

Is that what you are hoping for, just to say you were right.

That is wavy too far off for me to consider.

I would love to know how much he will ask for. One of the local talk shows says he wants much more then Diggs but that sounds like gossip.

Pickens as I see him more of a star player where Bland is more solid and will be overpaid for what he brings. Pickens has risk, but his reward is super high

He has a good opportunity to step up in this Eberflus scheme.

He should trust the coaches and allow everything else to fall in place. They'll switch it back up,. presumably, when Diggs gets back, and I'm hearing Revel will be back.

Whatever happens, I trust Revel will give his all. He's just that kind of player. That's actually what I liked about Hairston.

Revel has better instincts than I thought at first. At least I hope he does.

I mean, you do this culture stuff so the team doesn't act like babies later on. They are being preemptive about this for every player since we have new guys.

We'll get to see the first glimpse of the culture after the roster shapes up.

A very real possibility and I'm curious where you would allocate the resources.

Don't give me if the player does this this year. No kidding. Project what you think they'll do in 2025 and make a decision between the two.

Probably Pickens as long as he’s not a total sack of hammers here this year.

I would sign Bland and Pickens and trade Diggs for a good Defensive tackle or a high pick to use on a good Defensive tackle. Diggs makes too many business decisions when it is time to make a tackle. In the draft next year draft a corner with a high pick.
nobody is going to want diggs. most you can get for him is a 5th rounder.
