Are you guys satisfied with Dak's running yet?

Nope... He's not a good enough passer to win games when it counts, he needs to run more.

Not me.

Moore has not taken Dak and let him run wild like the Ravens do Jackson.

Why not?

Clearly last year we won games with his running.

Now..nothing.

I watched Jackson destroy the defense and I realize Jackson is different.

But I do not see the Ravens being squeamish about injury to Jackson.

On the contrary, he was already injured going into last night's game.

So what are we waiting for Mr. Moore?

It's about too late for you to change anything enough to better win.

So run RPOs, tell Dak to takeoff even if somebody is open.

Run plays with Zeke trailing and pitch to him down the sidelines.

Shake up the other team and dictate what we want to do.

Grow a pair, Moore.

Get off speed dial to Linehan and open the new playbook you said you had.

I am having a hard time with it. It’s part of his game that made him dangerous. He improved in most every way and quit running the ball. If you took his improvements and add in the running then defenses would be hating life. I am not sure if it’s Moore or JG or the FO or Kitna that’s told him to stay in the pocket. Or perhaps he is making a career decision because of it being a contract year and don’t want to be injured.

Either way it’s hurting the team. I get so mad watching the game and he isnt calling his own number when it would totally work. Or not taking off and scrambling with the ball when nobody is there. Huge holes for him and he won’t take it. He was forced last week and easily picked up a first down.

Seems like Zeke has lost a step and Dak has lost 3. We must be passing out concrete cleats.

I feel he can scramble more to gain 5-10 yards when the receivers aren't open on passing downsk . But I feel there has been a misconception that Dak has been a great runner. He's more of an instinctive power running QB than a guy who will outrun or elude defenders. You have to scheme him open lanes moreso than faster/quicker QBs out there. Clearly scheming has never been this coaching staffs strength.

Why not?

Because Dak is not a mobile / running QB!

I disagree.

No he is not Vick nor Jackson but is mobile.

My feeling is that he takes too long to just tuck the ball and just run when the protection breaks down.

He continues to look downfield and gets caught and the drive ends.

Happens time and again.

Frustrating.

Dak can run if he wants to. Should we design a couple of more run options per game, maybe so.

He's a fairly slow runner btw.
Not sure people should ever remotely mention him in the same breath as Jackson in that regard.
Trubisky is a faster than Dak too, but he's a pretty good comp. running helps his overall game a-lot. Loosens things up.

Dak can run if its there for him.
That’s mostly on him to take it.

Many feel he's reluctant to do so without a new deal. Don't know about that .... all speculation.

I think he has plenty of option plays. He just opts out, I think.

This thread seems to portray that either he has to run like Lamar Jackson or not run at all. Isn’t there a middle ground in which he can run as many times as at least Non speedster Aaron Rodgers?

I’m starting to believe the posters opinion that he may be worried about injury before the Guaranteed Money Contract is signed because there’s been many ample times to strategically get that first down with his legs

I feel very certain NONE of those people told Dak directly not to run. At most, they may have said "when do you run, be sure to slide and protect yourself".

Shoot Trabisky carved us up with his running..it's not just Lamar....Allen with Buffalo ran all over us...At any point Did Moore think..maybe we should try to run or QB.....thats what kills me...other teams are killing us with it and we don't even attempt....

It's strange. I don't think he's really worried about getting hurt when he runs, because when he does, he stiff arms with his throwing hand at times. So either he's not that worried about getting injured, or he's not very bright.

I agree about Garrett and the mandate about limited running.

Which makes no sense.

In college Dak ran alot. Watch his hilites.

Sprint outs, RPOs, quick pitches..

and he basically rarely threw deeper than 20 yards as he was told to get rid of the ball quickly.

They did this with him in 2016 when he took over for Romo.

It was wildly successful.

Then the changes came where he was asked to read defenses and throw deeper with timing.

Absolutely not his strong suites.

So now in order to continue his passing development they traded for Cooper.

But the tradeoff has been Zeke and the OL less required than once they were needed as road graders to pass protectors.

Very different identity to me for sure.

And now we are struggling completely losing our identity in the process.

This happened back in 2015 again when they let DeMarco Murray go.

It was immediately apparent the team lost its direction without him.

Then enter Zeke in 2016.

Instant new identity again.

So you are correct about not wanting to run Dak.

But you cannot pay these guys $100s of millions of $$$ and save them to preserve your investment.

You have to wind them and let them go.

;)
I agree, and they have lost the run identity ....again ! just like after murray left.
I think they had success in first 3 games passing, so they became a passing team, and then when it doesnt work they dont adapt.
