If we were the Cleveland Browns or the Detroit Lions whose fans don't have realistic expectations for a Super Bowl and merely console themselves in playing well, winning a few games and maybe sneaking into the playoffs, I would say "Yes!"
But as a Dallas Cowboys fan, I expect our quarterback to contribute more in getting us deep into the playoffs, i.e., at minimum the NFC Championship and at most the Super Bowl. If that is the standard, the answer is "No!"
I really had high hopes for Dak after his rookie year. I've given him the benefit of the doubt and have been patient, thinking he just needs to grow into the position.
It's YEAR 6!
He has weapons. Yet he can't get it done. He is hesitant to pull the trigger. He doesn't trust himself, and I don't think that's going to change. He is what he is.
Unfortunately, we're stuck with him. So unless we get blue chippers surrounding him, he's going to tickle our bellies with victories over NFC East teams and the least of these among other teams in the league, but he'll come up short in the playoffs.
That's likely our future with him, with Jerry Jones and with any coach Jerry Jones hires.
