Almost any 7th round is likely to either be a practice squad player or a training camp cut anyway, so it's not a big blow to have a 7th rounder spend a year learning a new position. It's not entirely new either. He was mostly a CB in college, but he played some at safety as well.Asking a late round project to change positions and expecting him to be anything other than PS is asking too much.
And he has some experience at safetySafety is a projection, but he has ball skills, and at worst should be a core special teamer. I don't think he's particularly sudden as a player, but he can beat guys up at the LOS and support against the run. Well worth a roll of the dice.
