Are you worried about Nick Folk?

That has been a constant refrain in e-mails and chats we've had lately. After all, Nick Folk has missed six field goal tries this year after missing seven in his first two seasons.
He was so good in 2007-08, that he was taken for granted some. But he essentially did not have an off-season because of hip surgery when he's able to build up leg strength and do some technical things to his kicking.
And he's also working with a new holder for the first time in punter Mat McBriar.
Coach Wade Phillips has some worries about Folk but he thinks Folk's personality is a little different from most kickers he's been around. Some kickers are just different, like lefty pitchers.
"We've kicked him from a good distance a lot," Phillips said. "You're not going to make all of them. We expect him to make all of them and he expects to. I think just because of his mindset he'll come through it all right."
Let's look at the distance thing - Folk has made 4-of-8 between 40-49 yards. In his first two seasons he was 17-of-18. That's pretty automatic right there.
"He hasn't missed what you would call a clutch kick yet," Phillips said. "That's where he's always been really strong."
