Most likely out the first ten games maybe more. A team that will be looking for a RB to replace him. People think we have it bad...my boy Blue leads the list of his in house replacement....

The Houston Chronicle reports Arian Foster (groin) requires surgery, but "should be able to return during the season."

"Should" being the operative word. It appears Foster will most likely be headed to injured reserve/designated to return, which would sideline him until Week 10.

And this bears watching as it pertains to Chris Johnson. Some advocated patience with regard to McFadden's ongoing hamstring issues, but the NFL doesn't operate in a vacuum. There are 31 other teams who have needs and can suffer injuries.

Just read they will be bringing in outside help. Multiple reports are saying the injury is "severe and major". Sounds more like he will be out for the year.

Big Dog adjust your fantasy cheat sheet.

I'll be very interested to see if it's Chris Johnson.

Another running back that had a lot of mileage put on him early. 2010 - 326 carries, 2011 - 278 carries (missed 3games), 2012 - 351 carries. and is currently 28 years old

He will turn 29 on August 24th. I have a feeling this will be his last year in Houston even though his contract is through 2016.

All the RBs being listed and his name has not been mentioned....I think that tells you all you need to know about Mr Grill.

Maybe so, maybe not. I'm actually a bit surprised that Ben Tate wasn't on that initial list. But I don't close them out as a potential landing spot for Johnson, do you?

Regardless, I'm just growing more impatient to see McFadden get out and stay out on the field. Hopefully today is the day?

No not at all I just think the lack of interest in him is pretty foretelling....as for Dmac I doubt he sees the field before the 15th of August....

Ugh!

If it takes that long, I'm moving on. I wouldn't want to go through the season counting on a guy who gets taken down running against air.

"Hello, is this John Elway?"

I agree but JJ said it the other day he was brought in to play week 1...to me that means he isn't going to be rushed back. As for grill man...if reports are coming out that BGE out of football for a year is being brought in over the Grill...man its time to shut the door on him. I mean you read the glowing reports on seastunk....:)...to many quality RBs are going to be available for Dallas not to bring someone in as insurance for Randle...how many days until the first game...

Yeah, and I don't share Jerry's unbridled patience and optimism. I think he's seeing what he hopes to see rather than what's actually happening.

I still have to think that Johnson's going to land somewhere. I think that - like Evan Mathis - it's a matter of the asking price having to come down before anyone starts seriously talking to them.

I sure think they should. I'm hopeful that Randle steps up to be the #1 running back, but I think some insurance just in case couldn't hurt.

I agree with all three takes.
