You are correct when it comes to the two DCs in how they dial in there blitz packages Haslett, tries to mimic the late Jim Johnson blitz heavy Eagles scheme but as some pointed out in regards to the Commanders blitz happy game plan on Monday show a lot of holes in those Haslett blitz calls but unfortunately the Cowboys couldn't and even stubbornly refuse to attack it for some strange reason where as we both know slants patterns would've destroyed that crap in which the middle of the field was there for the taking by the offense it's over now on to the Cards. They blitz more, but that doesn't mean they blitz like Washington. Haslett and Bowles have different philosophies and come from different schools of blitzing. Haslett prefers to call it as an art form, sending them disguised, giving you a zone or a fire look and then changing it up, lots of sugar-ing. Haslett is doing it to pressure you into an INT and NEVER telegraph what's happening before the snap (which is Romo's game, and therefore why he gets beat by Haslett).
Bowles version of the blitz is more rudimentary.

I've been hearing how Arizona has called more blitzes than any other team. Maybe it's because they have to. They have fewer sacks than the Cowboys do.

As for Todd Bowles who the Cowboys coaches know a lot about is more calculated when it comes to his blitzes but you can guarantee he will at least sprinkle in some of the Haslett sauce at the Cowboys offense because of their failure to counter it Monday night regardless who is at QB be it Romo, or Weeden and I would like to think that Linehan will be prepared this time around to deal with the blitz due to the success burning it during the six game winning streak so I'm truly hoping the Cards bring the blitz early and often because this time around it may bite them in the #$# if the Cowboys execute the pickups on offense.
I can't wait until they play the Skins again this season and you can bet that Haslett will bring that same game plan with the all out blitz and the bluff blitz coverage crap that he likes to do especially to Romo and I for one think this time they will be ready for it.
Best way to beat that blitz, slow it down by running through it over and over. Cowboys also need to simplify passing game for Weeden for when he needs to pass. He has a big arm but he does not look off the D like Romo does so we need to limit his throws to the quick hitters (he is very good at that 3 step drop), especially to TEs and RBs underneath, to continue stifling the blitz.
Bowles will counter similar to how Parcells and even Jim Johnson, they will run blitz. They will try to stuff the run on the way to the QB. Not so easy against a dsiciplined ZBS.
Yes it true that Haslett is really good at coaching that style of defense as compared to Bowles being more conservative in his approach to bringing the blitz and both of their schemes have huge holes in them if the offense just can execute.Haslett knows how to coach that style of blitz though, Bowles doesn't. I'm not saying that I'm not worried about Bowles' blitz, just that it isn't the same beast in my head.
Indeed but we also know that this is an Air Coryell style of offense in which WRs are asked to run deeper patterns in which they rarely even run slant patterns that are more common in a WCO, even the 90s Cowboys offense they didn't run many quick slants because they're not a premium in this style of offense but come on when you can't pickup predictable blitzes then they have to adjust the passing game to quick passes such as those and this Cowboys offense today is more of a hybrid version of the Coryell offense in which they actually have some WCO components in it and it was odd that they didn't use that Monday. You are very right. The lack of quick slants + drags was bad on Monday.
You are right that teams will do that but we also saw during the winning streak that they're very capable beating the blitz how they couldn't handle those predictable blitzes of Washington is beyond me and yes they will be prepared this week really they don't have much of a choice. Most teams are going to blitz us like crazy now until we prove we have a remedy for it, which we clearly did not against WAS.
I'm sure we'll be better prepared this week, though.
