Seems like that one will be primed for prime time. What are the rules for flexing?

ps. right now its Green Bay and Minn, but Minn may be out of the playoff picture by then. Perhaps Dallas gets flexed out as they are on Sunday night football the week before playing the WFT who is done.

I believe each network gets to designate one game from being flexed, this one probably gets chosen as I'm sure Fox doesnt want to lose a Cowboys game. They may move it to the 3pm slot though.

that would be mistake given the fact its 3 games away and if we beat NY and WFT2, i bet we won't be playing all our starters full game and it wont be much of contest, we will have little to play for unless a lot changes for seeding..resting our banged up players will be more crucial..

everyone getting too far ahead we have 2 games before this both division games and much more important to locking the season up with 2 to go.

Vikings @ Green Bay is currently the Sunday Night Game that week. The demand for that game is too great to be flexed out of that time slot. NBC is keeping that game.

We will be on the SNF game with WFT the week before, so I doubt it. Won’t have 2 in a row,
Unless they flex us out of the WFT game.

I doubt FOX will want to swap those games if they have a say so in ot.

idk I have a hard time believing this team would punt on a game against Arizona sitting at 11-4. With 2 games left they would have a real shot at the #1 or #2 seed, and beating Arizona would go a long way to do so.

This and nothing more. I hate Sunday night games. Let the game be aired at 3.

Game likely isn't that important in the playoff picture. The reality is the Cowboys have little shot at the #1 seed given the Bucs have a one game lead and the head to head and play four dogs to end the season. Barring an injury to Brady, the Cowboys likely won't need to win that Cards game and we could start to see them sitting guys to get them healthy for January.

They'll likely stick with the Vikes-Pack game in that slot because the Vikes likely will still be in the playoff hunt as they have the Bears next and then the Rams at home. Even if they go 1-1, over that stretch, they'll have a chance.

They have no shot at the #1 seed.

Tampa has a one game lead on them and hold the head to head. So the Cowboys would need the Bucs to lose twice. Their last four games are the Panthers (twice), the Saints and the Jets. They aren't losing two of those games.

And is there a ton of value in having the 2 seed?

If Philly beats WFT this weekend there will be a good chance we are flexed out of the Sunday night game vs WFT. Which could open the door for a flex in vs Arz

Even if its not the #1 seed it may come back to bite us. A loss against Arizona would pretty much mean we are #4, a win could mean #2 and not traveling to the #3 or 4 seed for a championship game. I would be shocked if this team doesnt wait until the final week to see about resting players.

NBC would do anything for the NFL to give them another Cowboys game. Fox would do everything in it's power to keep the Cowboys game. Packers vs Vikings is a cute game that will draw nice ratings but, Cowboys make your ratings the top dog that weekend. That's all networks care about, and it's why FOX isn't letting the game go anywhere but it's network.

Yes there is value in the 2 seed as that could be the difference in playing the NFCC game in Dallas opposed to Green Bay. Also a 3 way tie eliminates the H2H tie breaker. Tell your team to tap the brakes two weeks before the playoffs start is typically not a recipe for success.

I don't agree. Let's say Tyron Smith is still battling an ankle injury and COULD play if the game was meaningful. But I bet the Cowboys likely wouldn't play him against Arizona because health would be more important than worrying about home field advantage in the NFC title game.
