Just got back from a couple weeks in AZ. I was born and raised there, and it is a great state. July heat, notwithstanding.

We got a couple early monsoon rains when I was there. The smell and the heat lightening brought hit me right in the childhood.

Those same rains caused the bridge collapse on I10. I am driving to LA tomorrow and now my route is gonna have to be re-directed :(

Ouch. Seriously? I didn't realize they were anywhere near that significant. Still, it's cool to sit out at night with the heat and the lightening and the smells. Takes me right back to when I was 8 years old and we'd run around in the streets with the hot rainwater flowing around our ankles.

Love the smell of Creosote after a downpour.
