Arkansas (March 25)

With very windy conditions outside, workouts were forced indoors on field turf. Twenty-six teams were on hand, including Bears head coach Lovie Smith and coaches from the Packers, Panthers, Rams and Jets.

» RB Darren McFadden (6-1¼, 215): Had a 35½-inch vertical jump, 4.10 short shuttle, 6.86 cone drills, 13 reps in the bench press and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else. He had a good workout and did a good job of answering questions for the teams in attendance.

» RB Felix Jones (5-10 1/8, 210): Had a 34½-inch vertical jump, 13 reps in the bench press, ran position drills and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else. He caught the ball well.

» DB Matterral Richardson (5-11, 195): Ran the 40 in 4.52 and 4.49 and did position drills. He was late for the start of the event and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else.

» DL Marcus Harrison (6-2¾, 312): Had a 29-inch vertical jump, 9-foot long jump, 4.54 short shuttle, 7.55 cone drills, ran position drills and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else.

» RB Peyton Hillis (6-1, 237): Ran the 40 in 4.57 and 4.58, had a 35-inch vertical jump, 4.24 short shuttle, ran position drills and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else. He looked good but dropped several passes.

» WR Marcus Monk (6-4¼, 215): Ran the 40 in 4.43 and 4.41, had a 36-inch vertical jump, 10-foot 2-inch long jump, ran position drills and kept his numbers from the combine for everything else.

I was just about to post that. :) For some reason I had problems tracking down the Pro Day page on NFL.com.

Maybe this will kill the Felix "8 reps" Jones talk.

Big day for Marcus Monk. He was a 2nd rounder before the knee injury. I wouldn't mind taking a 4th or 5th round chance on him.

And HUGE NEWS!! Felix benched more than 8 times. not much though...both he and DMac with 13 pushes.

Yay, Felix benched more than his rumored 8. Good for him.

DMAC has long arms, which generally puts you at a disadvantage in the bench press so I'd say 13 isn't as bad as it sounds.

That's a very good 40 time for Monk.

I think he was getting labeled as a possession receiver by some. That workout should help him a bit.

good jobs by both...

your right about McFadden, long arms dont help with the bench press...however I suspect there's no issue whatsoever with his strength or the amount of time he spends training...the guys cut to heck with muscle...I'm guessing he is under 5.0% body fat

and great workout by Monk...I'd say he answered any questions about his (lack of) speed and whatever injuries he's had...he could end up being drafted alot higher than previously thought now

it sucks having long arms if your trying to get stronger on bench... one thing that hes at a disadvantage with

Like 13 is something to write home about.

Hell I never had the benefit of a D1 football program and I've done 17 reps before...

That's an awesome workout for Monk. I'll admit, I completely forgot about him. He'd be a nice addition if we don't go WR in the first.

Hopefully only thirteen reps will cause DMAC to take a perilous slip into our range.;) I'm thinking anywhere near the #1 spot.:D

You're a lot bigger than Felix, though. :)

And are you claiming MSU had anything less than the most high-tech weight program? :D

I'm about the size of two felix Jones' right now but I'd be lucky if I can do 3 reps. :D

Back then I was weighing about 215 so no way was 17 reps "Good", I'm just saying these guys can do a lot more if they put the work in.

You obviously didn't understand the meaning behind my post.

Oh I'd tell you where you can stick that cookie but It'd get me banned.

Hey Susan, nowhere in my post did I claim 17 reps was a lot. I KNOW it's not a lot.

Why don't you go eat Air's cookie... after he places it where I couldn't suggest it w/o being banned...
