04/11/07 - 2007 Top Returning RB's: Tabbed "Run D-MC" during a season in which the Razorbacks pulled an SEC surprise, the 2006 Doak Walker Award winner enters this season as one of college football's worst-kept secrets. In a league known for its speedy and athletic defenses, McFadden could be hard-pressed to repeat the numbers he posted as a sophomore with every foe focusing on No. 5. The Heisman runner-up to Troy Smith, McFadden has great size (6-foot-2, 210 pounds) and the versatility to make plays on every down - he even lined up under center at times in 2006 - while sharing carries with Felix Jones. A first-team All-American, he gained 1,558 yards and scored 15 touchdowns in '06.
12/13/06 - 2006 AP All-American First Team: RB Darren McFadden is a consensus All-America selection earning first-team honors from The Associated Press, the Walter Camp Foundation, CBS Sportsline.com, the Football Writers Association of American, SI.com and Rivals.com. The Little Rock, Ark., native also was tabbed as a first-team all-purpose back by the American Football Coaches Association. McFadden has already won the Doak Walker Award, presented annually to the nation’s top running back, and was the Heisman Trophy Runner-up to Ohio State quarterback Troy Smith. McFadden has rushed for a school record 1,558 yards so far this season.
12/08/06 - 2006 Walter Camp All-America First Team: Sophomore RB and Heisman trophy finalist Darren McFadden rushed for a school record 1,558 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while throwing three touchdown passes and returning a kickoff 92 yards for a touchdown. He leads the SEC and is ranked 10th in the nation in rushing with 265 attempts, 1,558 yards, and 119.8 yards per game. His total is the ninth best rushing campaign in SEC history.
