Arkin or Bern?

Arkin I think outplayed Bernie but neither one looked all that

Arkin blew the pickup on the delay in the 3rd (?) quarter that stalled a drive. I missed the start of the game and didn't notice Bernadeau, one way or another.

After reviewing the first half and scouring over the line play, Arkin was better. Bern got blown up on a couple of run blocks, completely destroying the play.

The pass protection by both was solid overall, though, although Bern didn't do a very good job of picking up an end on a pull and allowed him to hit Romo at the release point. Smith had more struggles in pass protection than anyone, but he was facing a pretty good end and still didn't allow a sack.

It's easy to see why Dallas would consider Waters since Bernadeau does get pushed back by power moves. I didn't notice that with Arkin in this game, but we've seen it with him in previous games.

One other thing to add. There was an obvious difference in our run blocking with Leary out. Not only at the point of attack, but surprisingly, Leary was more effective downfield than Arkin.

Arkin was solid in that he was in the right place at the right time in the firs thalf, but he just doesn't generate much movement.

Only watched the first half but Arkin looked better from what I could tell.

Arkin played better and did a really nice job. Bern, to me, doesn't play with passion. It looks like he's just going through the motions. Dockett on one play just cut across Berns face from the backside of the play and dropped DM for a 1yrd loss. That's just lazy! Arkin may not be as physically gifted but he wants it, he hustles and plays with heart. He definitely played better then Bern.

think that was Fred's fault for some reason he took off right everyone else went left

Yeah, watching Berny is always weird to me, he has these strange whiffs that seem like total mental lapses on his part. I've seen guys run right by him, and he seems to act like there was noone there, not even turning around to see the destruction he just caused behind him.

Fred's solid play actually makes their mediocre play stand out more really. I figure the coaching staff will go with Berny regardless, but with a healthy Leary I'm starting to think that we should just go real young with Arkin and take our lumps unless we sign Waters. I've been indifferent on Berny in the past, but its becoming obvious we need to go in another direction, plus if we moved Arkin to RG he looks alot better pulling than Berny ever will.

Can't believe I'm actually talking about starting Arkin, but Berny really disappointed me last night and doesn't appear that health has anything to do with his mental lapses and whiffs.
