Surprises all around the league today. I don't think Dallas winning was as much of a surprise as some of the things that happened today.
First, the Dolphins beating the Broncos. Not just beating them, but embarrassing them. And the Broncos ended up with several injuries. They just might be in for an ugly start. I really didn't think that the Dolphins would win in the month of September. But they played their balls off for Saban.
Second, the Bucs spanking the Vikings. Culpepper looked like crap. So much for the addition by subtraction theory. Maybe both teams lose on the Moss deal. Burleson was shut down. No run game. The Vikes d looked a little better, but they are not the shoo in everyone thought they were in the NFL North.
Third, the Lions dominating the Packers. I knew GB was facing a tough year. But that was bad. Favre looked terrible. I think he really is pressing, but the fact is, there is not a whole lot of talent in GB.
Fourth, the Rams losing to the 49ers. And it wasn't a fluke. I think the Rams only had one tunover. The 49ers had two fumbles and no running game. Yet the beat the Rams. That NFC West looks very weak. Seahawks, Rams and Cards all lose.
Finally, what was up with the Jets? Six fumbles by Pennington? Is that a record?
