The Commanders ask, “Can Tashard Choice make a difference?

Because I admittedly don’t know much about the Georgia Tech product, I sought out defensive tackle Stephen Bowen, who was teammates with Choice in Dallas.

“He has great vision and is a good all-around back,” Bowen said of Choice. “He can run the ball. He can catch the ball out of the backfield. He’s a good pass blocker. I mean, he’s pretty much everything you need. When he was in Dallas, he did it all.”

So what went wrong with the Cowboys? How is it that Choice became available for the Commanders to claim?

“He never really got enough touches,” he said. “They already had in their mind who they wanted, so even when he went out there and proved himself they still wouldn’t give him enough opportunities. Now, I’m so excited for him. He’s one of my best friends and I know he’s going to be ready to take on Dallas.”

At that point, I decided it was time to get to know the 26-year-old, so I tracked down Choice to see what his mindset is now that he’s playing for the other side of a heated rivalry.

When he went out to prove him self in recent years it always seemed to end with him putting the ball on the ground, maybe just maybe that had a little something to do with why he didn't get more chances?

Because he ran for 100 yards his first year twice against some top rush defense who were obviously playing pass (BTW we lost those games) and so he therefore proved that he should handle the load.

But of course the next seasons he only proved he could: Not correctly handle blitz pick up, refrain from making bad decisions, understand how to go down when a play is over, and all the basic things like, catch the football, run through the hole the play called for, not run backward, and not turn the football over

But he's a great back who can do it all!!!!

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Choice start against us, or get a significant amount of carries, seems like a Shanny move playing against us.

Sure he could make a difference. He could fumble the ball a few times and we could run them both back for TDs. That would be making a difference.

i will be sick to my stomach if choice gets 100 on us...

From the article:

Do you feel any ill will towards Dallas for letting you go?

“Nah, nah, nah … never,” Choice said. “It was a blessing in disguise and it helped me to get somewhere where I’ll have an opportunity. That’s why I’m here. Coach Shanahan brought me in, told me to get myself healthy and be ready to go.”

Stephen Bowen told me you did well with the limited chances you were given, but for whatever reason, the Cowboys never gave you their full support. That sound about right to you?

“Yeah, it’s tough when you’re limited,” he said. “I feel like I was limited for three years and now I’ve got this opportunity here, so I know I’ve got to show what I’ve got. I can’t worry about those days and there’s no more time for talking. I’ve just got to go on out and do it.”

sounds like too much:bang2: demarco could of used those carries. Heck tanner probably would of had better numbers:p:

I could well be way off in this opinion, but Choice has always struck me as the kind of back that either needs 20 carries or no carries. He seems like the kind of back that doesn't do any one thing particularly great, but can perform adqueately enough in any number of areas. In addition, he doesn't wear down with additional carries. But he always seemed way out of place as a situational back.

I just hope JG is little smarter than Andy Reid. I don't want Choice to do to us what Kolb did to the EaGirls last Sunday

Choice a good all around back? :laugh2:
He is good at all aspects of the game... even at fumbling the ball.:p:

Kolb did nothing except suck.

It was the backup Skelton that came in and led a couple of scoring drives in the fourth quarter to win that game.

I agree, I will not be surprised if he opens a few eyes over the rest of the year.
