I wouldn't call them jerks. They're just not into it like some others are. Me? I could care less about it, as long as they put a winner on the field, I could care less where that field is. When Jerry props it, it seems like football is secondary.

Give me a break.

No need to duck, Chief. I'm totally with you on that, and I bet a lot of other people are as well. All I care about is the football team. I think we needed a new arena, because Texas Stadium was outdated and beyond repair. But I hate how every notable facet of the stadium is about everything but football... It's all about the glitz and the shimmer and the technology and the bragging rights of being the biggest and the brightest.

And I hate that it's a dome. Football should be played outside, on grass. I'm jealous of teams like the Packers and Bears and even the Bucs who play outside in the cold and the heat. Aside from some heat early in the year, we have some great weather, especially in the fall and even winter. So it's ridiculous for us to play in a dome. This football team has been called white collar and soft for a long time, and this fancy stadium doesn't help that image.

Galloway said it best: This building is Jerry's monument to himself. And it suits him perfectly.

Great post but I think the new stadium is awesome. If you're going to build a new stadium, why not make it a crazy super duper awesome sweet one that can be used for multiple reasons.

But I'm with you out the outside and grass. I'm not a fan of domes, but I guess technically we still have the hole in the roof.

It just sucked when Kinnick Stadium of all places here at Iowa took out grass and put in field turf. And we're about as "traditional" as you can get in regards to stuff like that.

I won't miss the heat for the early season games but I will miss the cold ones. Something about putting on 10 layers of clothes UNDER your jersey on those freezing cold nights is greatness. And the excitement when it started to snow on Thanksgiving against the Jets. Sitting in 72 degree perfection just isn't the same.

I'd much rather play in heat than cold.

With heat you just dump water on you and stand by a fan, but cold every hit hurts 10x more.

It might not be a deal to you because you havent invested a cent into it.

But like me, and other Die Hard Cowboy Season Ticket holders it does mean alot. And it should to Jerry too. He's paid more than anyone else, including his time.

Which is why I said I understand why it's a big deal to Jerry, genius.

I am in agreement. To me, the stadium is irrelevant to the product playing on it.

New stadiums are nice I guess, but nothing beats winning.

Nothing.

And in case some haven't noticed, we haven't won anything in quite a while.

If we don't have a roof with retractable sides to the stadium, you don't play the NBA All Star game there, nor the Final Four, or various other things that will inevitably be signed.

Jerry didn't drop $1+ billion on the stadium just for the fun of it, it's an investment.

At least it's going to have the feel of an outdoor stadium. Hole in the roof, the sides open up so you'll get a breeze in there, and also all the glass around the building will help light the place up during day games.

The thing is amazing and I couldn't be any more proud to be a Dallas fan when I boast about the stadium. Anyone take a look at what the Giants' new stadium is going to look at? Seriously, we make that thing look like a piece of crap, and that's getting opened next season.

I'm with you. I've actually had a few friends whol like other teams and despise the Cowboys, mention they were looking forward to watching tomorrow to see the new stadium. They seem more excited than I am.

I think its cool the Cowboys have new digs, and I'd guess it would mean much more to me if I lived in the Metroplex - or whatever you call it, but I only care about the product taking the field.

I know plenty of non-Cowboys fans here in the Northeast who said they are going to take a trip to Dallas to see a game, but mainly to go see that stadium. So to whoever earlier in this thread said that it's not going to attract more visitors, that's false.

I have a feeling that some of those who don't care about the stadium will feel different after being inside it the first time.

Yea, I've heard some of that and it scares me a little. I could see opponents getting 20-25% of the tickets and negating any kind of home field advantage. Not that there was much of one to begin with.

You know I'm quickly reaching that point.

10 years of failure will do that.
