not at OT

I still see him as a talented player -- again, keep in mind that his coaching last year sucked. Perhaps the worst coaching staff you'll see in a long long time.

I agree he has talent, and the coaching has reeked in Oakland for awhile now

but he was not decent as an OT, that's why he was moved inside last year

I still remember Flozell Adams beating the cr@p out of him in a training camp fight. Good thing for Tucker that Larry Allen and Gurode were there to get Flo off of him.

I live in Raider country and follow them a bit - their line is nowhere near as poor as people make it out to be. They played terribly last year -- but that coaching staff was just totally out of it -- the OC had been out of the league forever and Shell clearly lost whatever he used to have.

There is talent on that line. Gallery's first two years were decent -- but last year he, like everyone else on that team, sucked. Jake Grove is decent. Barry Sims is too and they've got the other, more developed McQuistan at G.

Are they going to be great? No. But they aren't going to suck like last year.

I didn't follow them last year at all, but I'm going to assume that the quarterbacking duo of Walters/Brooks must have had some part in high sacks allowed numbers.

A sad O-lineman for a sad O-line. Match made in heaven.

I still think Tucker should be an OG, not an OT.

I have to agree, he was simply not good in space...

There must be something really wrong with Tucker that we don't know about -- coming out of college lots of people had him projected as a 2nd or 3rd round draft pick - yet he went undrafted. He has excellent physical tools.

Hmm, what does that leave?

honestly other than a fluke game or two here and there, he has never displayed any excellent physical tools

he's a human turnstyle

I think most analyses we've seen showed that Tucker was FAR FAR worse.

You're so annoying, because you just make these assinine assumptions without actually looking anything up. You should try it sometime, looking things up. Pettiti allowed more sacks the year they both started and Tucker was a far better run blocker.

well that isnt saying much, Tucker didnt start all 16 games, remember?

also, saying his run blocking was better than a scrub who we cut the next TC isnt much of an accomplishment either

they were both God-awful

Yeah, I know, it's like picking one turd sandwich over another. My only point was, given a choice between the two, I'd pick Turd #2 (Tucker)

Saying that Tucker was FAR FAR WORSE is a stretch though. Pettiti SUCKED. I've been watching him in preseason too, the guy is still a turnstile.

Tucker did play all 16 games in 2005. I can't verify if he started them all, but he played in them all in some capacity.

As a college student, Tucker demolished a parked car, with his bare hands, and improvised pounding tools. That's why he was undrafted. Coaches were worried about potential damage to their cars.
He had a good game in Carolina. In the last 2005 game against the Rams, Petitti was OVERWHELMED by Leonard Little, who was tackling Julius in the backfield on every play in which he wasn't harassing Bledsoe.
Robert Gallery cheap-shot/injured Igor Olshansky after the whistle on the final play of San Diego at Oakland in the opening Monday Night game last year.
I hope Gallery's career ends soon.

Leonard Little is as great outside rusher. He has 4 career seasons over 10 sacks. In that game the team had given up and Petitti was one of the few guys who still cared.

Tucker gave up 4 sacks to Phillip Daniels. He has NEVER hit 10 sacks in a season - that year half of his sacks. He gave up his sacks in a game that actually meant something.
