Surprise 1st Rounders
Written by Allen Trieu

Every year a few unexpected players sneak into the 1st Round. Chris Spencer, Logan Mankins, Nick Barnett, Nnamdi Asomugha, Tyler Brayton, those are just a few players who snuck up on draftniks and made it into the 1st Round. Here are some candidates this year who you might see pop up unexpectedly in Round 1.
DANIEL BULLOCKS, Safety, Nebraska
Bullocks handled questions about his speed by running a sub 4.4 at the combine. That, combined with how good he is in the box has him as a possibility for several teams in the later portion of Round 1.
D'QWELL JACKSON, Linebacker, Maryland
Jackson is a good athlete who can play inside or out. A couple teams late in the 1st Round like the Giants, Panthers or Jaguars may have their eye on him as an outside backer.
RICHARD MARSHALL, Cornerback, Fresno State
I've always been a Marshall fan. He is the one of the least talked about DBs expected to go on the first day. But he is very talented and could be a good fit for several teams especially the New England Patriots who are big fans of his.
DARYN COLLEDGE, Offensive Tackle, Boise State
Colledge could be this year's Logan Mankins. He can play inside or out and is very smart. Indianapolis may be a good spot for him at 31.
JERIOUS NORWOOD, Running Back, Mississippi State
Norwood blew people away at the combine. He is a speedy back who can catch the ball. He'd be a good fit for the Jets at 29 or Indy at 31.
MATHIAS KIWANUKA, Defensive End, Boston College
A couple months ago, this wouldn't have been a surprise. But Kiwi's stock has fallen to the point where he's a 2nd Rounder on many board. However, he has a ton of talent and we forget how great he was when he was healthy.
