Article: Vikings fans rooting for "hated" Cowboys

I grew up in North Dakota and pretty much everyone is a Vikings fan, its fun having them cheer for the Cowboys

I wish I came into contact with more fans from other teams. Living in Dallas, everyone is mostly a Boys fan.

It seems that ALL NY Giant fans I run into in NY are of the frat boy variety. They all look like the same person.

The Saints fan are the same way and I really don't understand it. Go to their boards and it's the same way as the Vikings. Is there some past history besides the regular season meetings? Because I can't think of them. Did something happen in those regular season meetings that constitute hatred towards the Cowboys from the Saints fanbase? Same with Seattle fans.

I live in the N.O. area, so I may be able to offer a theory.

I don't think it had anything to do with anything that happened on the field. I don't have to tell you guys that the Saints have a pretty awful history. It took them 20 years to have a winning season and a playoff appearance, and 35 years to win their first division title and first playoff game.

Saints fans are insanely jealous of Cowboy fans, and there are LOTS of us here in the N.O. area. How dare you show disloyalty to the Black & Gold???? Answer: life's too short to support a sucky team!!

There is no logical reason to hate the Saints either, but I do, due to the behavior of their fans. I'm probably in the minority on this board this week, but among the 3 NFC teams that still have a shot, the Saints are last on my wish list!! :saints:

If you were a fan in the 70's with Bud Grant and Fran Tarkenton and the purple people eaters, you would understand why they hate us. We had some good times through the years at the expense of the vikings.
