Art: "Apparently you feel the simple fact Tony Romo has been in the league and done absolutely nothing for a longer stretch than Jason Campbell, that he is somehow ahead of Campbell. This is so daft it almost shouldn't be addressed for fear of subsequent laughter.
Romo is a marginally talented football player who is still evolving as an NFL prospect. He played on a lower level in college and produced on a lower rate of quality than Campbell. In one game against a real football team, Romo had 5 interceptions against Kansas State.
Romo is slower, shorter, smaller, weaker, less accurate and in all other ways one measures physical talent, lesser than Campbell. Simply riding the bench and beating out a baseball player doesn't not elevate him. But, here's the kicker. Todd Collins is an LONG-TIME backup in the league selected in the second round of the NFL draft. While he does, indeed, suck, he sucks far less than a player he's better than in Romo, in that he has more skill, more knowledge of the system, more experience and all that good stuff.
He even played at a real college to boot.
Campbell has to beat out this guy to even earn backup status. While Campbell is the hope for our future, he certainly would be considered a better option to anyone you have behind your starter, and, what's best, he may not even be our top option. That's just how far ahead we are compared to you."
