That will be the story line in 2018.

The addition of Richard to shepherd a young, talented and aggressive DB committee, complemented by Marinelli's hustling DL and tied together by a LB group that could turn out to be a real productive unit, the Cowboys defense is going to be quite good this year. They will give up some points and they get a bunch of turnovers.

Where the Cowboys will wet the bed is the coaching on the offensive side of the ball. I can no longer hold out hope for Linehan to pull it together and come up with an explosive offensive scheme. Whether or not Garrett is root cause doesn't matter. To me the two are joined at the hip. The offense will only be as good as Zeke and the OL and that won't be enough to win anything without a stellar year from the men on D.

A lot of resources spent on Zeke and the offensive line. I have higher expectations from that group regardless of who the QB and WRs are. No excuses. If teams are stacking the box, Zeke needs to hit some home runs.

this team like all nfl teams in this time period will go as far as good qb play and coaching can take them

'copy',,,,,,, apparently that rough patch of road the organization blew a head gasket & several tires while traveling down in the latter half of the 2017 season , has been indelibly seared into the Psych of the general fair weather fan, forever branding the foreboding portent of gloomy loserdom across their foreheads of thought:rolleyes:

Or

Perhaps it is I of the sunshine fair weather clan of fandom who simply lack the mental clarity in grasping the unseen but to only the genuine real football fans who are capable of discernment of the sight beyond sight future visions of seasons yet unplayedo_O

Say wut.

Our team will always be how far our OL and the running game will take us. JG has effectively created a run first identity for the Cowboys. Time of possession will be critical for the defense to play at a top 5 level which they are capable of. Our OL is arguably the best unit in the NFL.

We already know that opposing defenses are going to stack the LOS in the upcoming season.

Our aerial game will be seriously challenged to prove that they're capable of sustaining drives.

It's anyone's guess at this juncture whether or not this offense will fulfill that requirement at all.

Precisely,my Bro!,,, yet the tsunami of self appointed experts are ( at a briefest of a casual glance) feverishly attempting copyright protection on the 2018 seasons book they're rushing to publication of which hasn't even sniffed the wind of ENGAGEMENT YET o_O

* pretty damned pathetic, were I to be asked of ,in assessment thereof.

No faith in any return to 2016 form?

The Cowboys had a healthy Tyron and Zeke and were the 5th highest scoring team in the league then.

As bad of an offense that many fans think we had last year if this group scores 25+ points we should win. But in tough games like last year vs Seattle we are going to need Dak to stepup and "will this team to a win".

I agree. It's not like we lost Bryant and Witten at their peak, there is no reason to assume they struggle. This O line is absolutely stacked and healthy, so is Elliott.

I seriously hope we have a defense that can put some games away for a change, why wouldn't we want that?
