This is just silly. So Elli is a better QB than Dan Marino? People get a grip. There is more than one way to judge a QB. :bang2:

Marino won playoff games. Marino took his team to the Superbowl. Marino didn't choke when the game was on the line.

Now can you say the same about Romo?

Are you smoking crack? Eli is a joke. His D won him a ring thats that.
Do you think we should trade Tony for Rex Grossman?

You honestly believe that Eli had nothing to do with the Giants getting to the SB and winning the SB?

C'mon now. Let's be real.

It's just been so long since we've had a quality QB that I think many people are over rating Romo. He should be farther along than what he is and he still lacks a top 10 QB mentality.

Do you even watch Cowboys games? There have been numerous "big games" over the course of the past few years and Romo has won his share. Do you think he plays the Lions and Bucs every week or something? He has won close to 70% of his games and is the thrid highest rated passer in the history of the NFL. He has had great 4th quarter #'s and engineered some amazing comebacks in his relatively short time as a starter. There's a lot of "clutch" in there and not a lot of "choking".

As far as the playoffs. He brought them down the field and threw a bigtime pass to Witten against the Seahawks to ice the game. Refs changed the spot and he dropped a ball as a holder. What a choker QB. Crappy holder - maybe. Anyway.

Go to the next year when he had Fasano drop a TD, then Crayton drops a huge, clutch 3rd down pass that could have finished the Giants off. He rolled left, avoided a rusher and threw to his right, hitting Crayton in stride. That is the FURTHEST THING from choking and a pass that very few make. Special teams and D give up a TD and he brings them down the field. He throws an amazing deep pass that would have hit Crayton in stride if he hadn't stopped. That pass was beyond clutch and would have been one they show over and over on hightlight vids. Instead Crayton pulled up and killed us. Yeah that was Romo's fault. He hasn't had a prob with turnovers in the playoffs. He's gotten his team to the playoffs 2 out of 3 years as a starter and won a division. And he didn't do those things by being a bus driver. He put up amazing numbers to help get those wins.

Eli has been 1 and done 3 times in the playoffs and he's looked pretty bad doing it. Romo was not bad in either game and has only had 2 playoff shots thus far. Dallas gave Eli and the Giants that miracle playoff game in '07 and he was nothing special in that game. In the SB he threw TWO game losing picks on the big drive after leading his team to a whopping 10 points to that point. The Patriots dropped those BAD passes in the most clutch moments. A ball sticks to Tyree's head and the rest is history. BTW, Eli led the league in turnovers that year. Look at Eli's #'s. Watch each of the games where Romo and Eli have played against each other. Romo has been the superior QB a majority of the time. Did you see the game in December last year when both QB's were getting the crap beat out of them in a big game? Romo stood tall and clearly outplayed Eli. Of course it's only a big game if Tony and the Boys lose.

Stop watching ESPN and watch football. I live in NJ and see almost all of Eli's games. I've seen every Romo start. Romo is clearly better. Eli is above average (SB does not make him great), Romo is a top 10 QB that makes his team better.

My list is the following..

1. Peyton Manning, he's clutch and he's won alot of big games, he has 1 super bowl and his numbers are unreal. On top of that he rarely throws int's or takes sacks. He's one of the most accurate qb's of all time. Not to mention he's basically another coach on the field. a great leader , I Really think there is no question he's number one.

2. Tom brady, 3 super bowls , a great leader, great numbers.

3. Big Ben, The thing I like about him is he's so very clutch, when it matter's most he finds a way to win.

4. Phillip Rivers ... River's just has that it factor, he's going to be a great player for years to come.

5. Tony Romo, I put him ahead right now as we speak ahead of bree's , warner, mcnabb, favre . The reason being to me there's not another guy in the league who's the playmaker Romo is . Even when a play totally breaks down he can sometimes find a way to make it a conversion or even a touchdown. Hes really growing right now as a qb and is learning to cut down on his bad throws. I really like him going forward from here on out .

No way Romo is better than Brees. You gotta put the homerism aside:D. At this point, I have Warner ahead of Romo because he's proven and passed his way to the Super Bowl last year. Tony has great stats and is a very good QB but he has to win a playoff game before being TALKED about in the top 5.

Nope. Not even top 10.

Ridiculous. Rivers is basically the same as Romo but hasn't proven it as long (as doesn't have the career stats romo does). Warner and Farve once upon a time but not now.
Rodgers, even lower than Rivers. He's got more to prove.
Manning is a joke.
So is Palmer.

I put Romo about 5 but this is just straight haterism

Rivers led his team to the AFC Championship on a torn ACL. Yeah, he doesn't have the "stats," but they only get you so far in the league. Rivers ahead of Romo at this point.

'I agree Rivers is showing a lot, but AFC championship doesn't prove it. We are talking individual achievement not team.

And if u watch Rivers vs Romo, I think there is no question who has the most talent. Rivers is play action and pocket passing and that's it. Romo does more and does it better.

Plus, I don't get why Rivers' gets a pass despite the inexperience and the lack of stats. Yet Romo has better stats and more experience, but more hate

I agree with some of your points. Romo does have the ability to extend the play; sometimes that leads to big plays for us and big plays for the defense. If you ask most scouts or coaches though, they'll tell you Rivers has a MUCH better arm than Romo. Rivers actually has a cannon of an arm; hence his top 5 draft selection and college career. Rivers and Romo are just two different types of QBs who have their own positives and negatives. I'm giving the nod to Rivers at this point because a QB is judged not just by individual stats, but winning playoff games and hopefully Super Bowls.

Rivers is way underrated IMO. He had 34 TD passes and only 11 INTs last year and didn't even make the Pro Bowl I believe. Romo's not that far behind at all, if and when he wins a couple playoff games, he'll be considered one of the best in the game.
