Sure, and I can see that. However, in the meantime, as the dust is settling, I'm excited. Plus, Jerry might have another move or two up his sleeve. You never know. That said, I'm excited. I think this team looks furtastic!!
Agree on all points. The roster is looking great and no doubt Jerry Jones probably does have more up his sleeve.

I agree, that's probably one of maybe two areas that still need upgrading. However, on the whole, this team seems to be much stronger than it was this time last season.
Better weapons on offense for sure. Oline, not so much. Problem is that once Tyron goes down, things could go downhill. Unless someone like Bass or Richards can ball.

Sure, and, I know it was preseason, but I must say that Bass and Richards' play eased my concerns a bit if that were to happen.

We cant know about those guys until they play starters. But they played well enough to have peaked my interest.

Both looked better than Ball or Walenzko. Im just happy we arent relying on those two.

As the dust settles from the cuts, my excitement for the season builds. We probably will see a few more roster gymnastics before we play the Giants. However, I have to say I like the way that this roster appears to be being constructed ATM. Maybe it's because I'm 30, but I think this team looks better than it did this time last year. Bear in mind, we went 12-5 with a much weaker team than I think we have this year.

Here are some examples of areas that generate excitement for me. I think our receivers look better than they did this time last year. Heck, even our likely PS receivers look good. The removal of Kelvin Joseph means that we have one less imbecile on the team. I don't know how the replacement will be, but I doubt he's as much of an idiot as Bossman Fat was. I think our running game looks lethal. I think the combination of Pollard, Dowdle, Vaughn, and Luepke will be a nice combo. I'm expecting that our "run game" will likely be just quick passes to them to get them outside and let them use their speed.

I also should note that our kicking game looks better. We are not having to recycle Brett Maher again (who couldn't even make the Broncos squad). We have a kicker who got better as the preseason when on. Our defence is always exciting, and our secondary has me excited. Also, our backup QB situation looks good. I liked Grier, but I think Dak, Rush, and Lance will be a nice trio. Especially since Lance has a chance to learn and develop on what his upside was. I think Dak is going to take to this offense well. Our preseason offense looked explosive, and that's without the big starters involved. I think, in short, our offense is going to be explosive, our defence is going to be deadly, and our ST looks better. Kick that ball off already!!

I'm sure some of you are going to say that "Jerry loves fans like me" for my expressing my excitement. To which, I will respond by saying that I'm 30, and let me drink my Kool-Aid in peace. I'm excited about the Cowboys this year, and I'm excited to see the team kick the ball off. I don't know where the season is going to end, but I think we are going to have an exciting team to watch. Go Cowboys!!
Good points, lot of reasons to be excited for this team. And yes I think this team has improved in many spots.

Definitely Improved at:

WR
CB
DT

We do have some spots with depth questions along the oline and lb but hopefully the depth isn't needed. However, I think we've seen improvement among the young oline throughout the preseason. Richards and Bass played well and frankly outplayed guys like Ball and Waleztko who we were counting on to show growth. LB doesn't have much depth and one we'll have to consider moving forward.

Positions like TE and RB to some may look downgraded, but I don't see it that way. Schultz was a good player for us, but watching Ferg and Schoonmaker seems like it will be a fine tandem with upside. TE technically doesn't need to be more than the 4th option with the weapons at WR. For RB, Elliott is gone but pretty much everyone knew RB2 was better With more opportunities for him and more speed behind him this unit could actually be more explosive.

I’m sure Jerry Jones is so excited he is going to pop out a few more kids with some strippers.

Agreed, it seems like we are at least improved there. That's a plus.

I'm ready for the season.

Really interested to see how games are called under McCarthy. Really hope to see less of the predictable run to the sticks routes.

I think TE is upgraded. I think Ferguson is better than Schultz anyway. I also like Hendershot and Schoonmacher. I think our oline depth is better than last year. I think Bass and Richards is a better depth group than Ball and Waletzko. All in all, I am ready for the Cowboys season.

Considering the way Dak was calling plays, I wonder if he was doing that to allow Dak the autonomy to call plays on his own.

Meh I don’t care what this board says I’m gonna enjoy the season.
Oh, I'm so sorry for you. Is there any way I can help fill you with rage and fail to enjoy a single moment of Cowboys regular season football? You know, like a true fan.

Of course, I’m always optimistic at the beginning of a new season, but somehow this feels different…in a good way
