As usual, Jerry and company are bystanders in FA

Kendricks was an OK signing. Let's not act like his signing was some sort of deviation from their normal cheapness and stupidity in FA.

They should have been all over guys like Kinlaw and Ford at DT. Because they have a CLEAR NEED at DT.

Nothing.
Now 4 hours into not even official FA, this point seems to be escaping some of y'all. We can revisit a week or 2 in. Let things play out

Who cares? Everyone says we won't win anything as long as Jerry is in charge anyway so why do you care who we sign?
because the heat needs to keep being turned up on this inept FO, stop yelling at the HC/Players and let this fool family know they are the Nico Harris of Dallas Football.

Why are you surprised? No matter how much they try to ignore the terrible situation the Cowboys are in, things are not going to change. Two things have to happen: 1. Dak-Anger's contract ends, and 2. Jerry is no longer the owner. So it's going to take a while for the Cowboys to be contenders again. They'll see Washington and the Eagles continue to make the playoffs and even the SB, while the Cowboys will be fighting for the bottom spot with the Giants until the Giants get back on their feet, which for me will be before the Cowboys. The Cowboys fell into a very deep hole because of the mistakes Jerry has made, so trying to create utopian stories every year that they will now be contenders is being masochistic.

the reason they are tier 2 and 3 is bc their demand is lower and their asking price comes down...you sign them today you pay more than they are merriting, its the different phases of FA, thas all
Makes sense but pay a little more today so you dont have all the competition for tier two and three tomorrow and wednesday. Makes business sense to me

Can we confirm the Joneses are not on vacation?

At the present time, only 14 of the top 100 free agents have signed with a different team.

Four of those are going to the Patriots.

Almost every team is just resigning their own guys at this point.

Bottom line is that it’s a bit premature to call it a day.
It’s not a great free agent market this year. That’s triggered the flurry of signings early whether it be team’s own guys or from another team. The FAs that are likely to be impact players have agreed to deals. From here on out it’s tier 2 guys or the kind that are signed after a team does not fill a need in the draft.

Good teams lost more FAs than they signed. Bad teams signed more than they lost. The Cowboys are the exception. They’re a bad team that lost more than they signed. It’s not premature to call it a day.

It's ridiculous. They are not going to get any better if they dont add better players to their roster. If they have a free agency like last year, I'm out. I will find a new team after 54 years. I know they don't care but it sucks that it's come to this
Fan like you from the beginning.

This team is one injury from Dak ending his season and career from sinking into no man’s land .

The Jones approach isn’t helping to give hope for at least a playoff competitive team in any foreseeable future

It’s the same every year. Fans think day 1 is all that matters.
Free Agency is a long process. There is plenty of time for Dallas to sign the players they are targeting. We all knew they weren’t looking at tier 1 players.

If they sign a RG, an ILB, a CB, and maybe a vet RB or Dowdle, that’s decent going into the draft where they plan to draft WR, RB, DL, etc.

The first wave of FA is usually filled with teams overpaying for JAGS
Kinlaw isn’t a JAG. Poona ford signed for less than 10MM AAV. Also not a JAG.

We suck at FA and it shows every single year.

Absolutely 4 hours into FA.

Don’t you guys ever get tired of saying the same thing every start of FA to then look foolish when people were right and Dallas gave a bird to FA?

LOL. They need more than that in FA. To not add a quality vet DT is perplexing as hell.

What makes sense to us rarely makes sense to them unfortunately

It's not about being first with a complaint.

It's about recognizing the reality that this franchise doesn't seem to care all that much about winning, instead caring more about managing the bottom line.

It's the same discussions every year and you guys all say the same things and eventually get burned. And then the next year, come back saying the same things to only get burned again (and likely burned again this spring).

I'll be delighted to be wrong.
There’s just no fun around here unless you are one of those delighting in misery.

Few like the team. Few have hope. Few are willing to say anything positive at all.

It’s just a sad place.

Maybe I just need to find another forum because the Zone is the most negative message board I’ve ever been part of and I’ve been an active fan of Dallas sports and part of its online community many, many years. This place just sucks the fun out of being a fan and there is a definite contingent of regulars who do it intentionally.

Certainly, at least I’ll give the Fan Zone a rest. The other zones don’t get as much awfulness and there’s more actual football talk.
