As we begin our trip that leads full circle

For the purpose of this post "full circle"'= Cowboys in playoffs heading back to Super Bowl.

Right or wrong. THAT is how I look at this.


I am take back to Super Bowl XXX.

1. Dallas vs Steelers. Not caring too much about old rivalry at the time. I just wanted what I felt we should have had was that 3rd Super Bowl for the 90s Cowboys.

2. Watching the first half I was all in my glory. We were handling them rather easily.

3. Then came the 2nd half. It was like the clock struck midnight. They were pushing is around. They were driving on offense and we stalled.

4. At this point, I am freaking out. I had $500 on the Cowboys to win and cover the spread. Was 14 points.
As I said, I was freaking out. I said to myself, I don't care about the $500, I can always make more BUT this Super Bowl would be gone forever. The joke is that Jerry sold his soul for that Super Bowl. I did too. Lol

5. Man, in no way did I think it would be almost 20 years later before we had a REAL SHOT again?

Happy to have it.
Gotta make it happen.
Next year and the success is guaranteed to no team.

I feel like I spent almost my entire life spoiled. I was born in Staubach's time... I grew up at dad's knee watching us compete for Division title after NFC Championship etc through the 70s, 80's, the 90's.... Always WINNING.... Dad always began the season on the phone to my brother, "Daddy," He called my bro that, "I think we're going to go all the way this year...." Thennnnn what??? 20 years to be relevant again? Like I spent most of my "adult" life with them breaking my heart and making poor decisions and coming up short. I think it taught me as a fan to be humble and not to be a bad fan... maybe that was the lesson... not to take it all for granted and maybe be not obnoxious to other fans (READ: EAGLES who will never win till their fans aren't awful).... just thinking aloud..... lol

Daddy, I think we're going to go all the way this year...........

All through 90s I heard how we were "lucky".


So I flipped the script at Verizon the other day in New Jersey.

I walk in, apparently a few cowboys fans walked in that day so they were all sour puss faces lol

One guy says with a smile. I hate the cowboys. I disarm him right away with... "I don't hate the giants, I just want to get lucky like they did the last 2 superbowls"

They go from hate to defending their Super Bowl win.... Haha.... Justifying it. Priceless.

Be loud, be obnoxious if you want to be.

Win or lose.... We are gonna hear it!

I don't think there is any other team in the NFL that is so hard to be a fan of. Like Rev said, no matter what we were lucky, the refs gave us the game,
other team had injuries. It's tough but I love it.
