2. Asante Samuel could be headed for Philadelphia. I hear the all-pro New England cornerback could get five years and $55 million from the Eagles, but I think once Philly finds out no other team out there is willing to give $10 million a year to a finesse corner who doesn't like contact -- unlike the franchised Marcus Trufant of the Seahawks and Nnamdi Asomugha of the Raiders -- the price tag could slither down a bit.

This is a dangerous, dangerous move if the Eagles do it. I've been a Samuel guy for the last couple of years, because he's a fearless competitor, but his play late last season, particularly when the Patriots couldn't generate a consistent pass-rush on Eli Manning, was poor.

He let David Tyree beat him for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl, then let a catchable interception slip through his hands on the decisive Giant drive (though it would have been a tough catch), and didn't clobber Tyree when he was fighting for the catch heard 'round the world, though Samuel was only steps away.

Wow. Just yesturday, or the day before, they were reporting he wants a 10 year deal worth 100 million and now, in two days time (Before bidding even actually begins) they've decided he'll just settle for 5 years and 55?

Wow.

I read that the Pats or somebody was gonna go after Lito. PFT probably reported that. But it sure would make things interesting.

Nope. But then I'd answer that same way with about 30 other teams.

You and me both. In all honesty, if I could steal ANY CB off of ANY NFL roster and put him on the Cowboys it would be Daunte Robinson.

IIRC wasn't Lito Sheppard given permission to seek a trade? I don't know why the Eagles would trade someone already solid on their team and over pay for and overrated replacement. Insane if you ask me.

I'd take Lito on our team any day. If for no other reason than to have that ****** stop torturing us!

Thats a joke 5 yr 55mil, no way he should get that. IF any of you think hall is overrated thats fine. But samuel is hugely overrated theres a reason why he got picked in the 4th round. Patriots system makes him look top notch.

I don't think Dunta Robinson is going to be the same after that knee injury. He tore his acl and his hamstring was completely ripped from the bone. It's a shame because he was really good.

I like him as well but the injury he took was pretty major as the ligaments and muscles were torn off the bone. Right now the Texans are concerned about him being able to return.

Seriously. They've been good for a while. They went to ONE Superbowl. Can anyone tell me what was unique about that season for Philly ?

Here's a hint - he now plays for the Cowboys.

One season with a bona fide decent receiver, one Superbowl.

Last season they let a good receiver go in Stallworth, but this year they are thinking about giving a DB $55 Million. Yeah, BRILLIANT.

Heck yeah! I usually look for the ability to spell player's names to know if they really like them or not.
