Ya go for it. I guarantee you I will never cry about Newman he has been one of my favorite Cowboys. No need to pay starting salary to a guy we don't need starting. I'll stick with Scandrick as a back up.

If we're crying about the defense, it'll be because we didn't fix the pass rush or didn't find another serviceable CB in FA. Not because we didn't make an idiotic trade inside our own division for a player who's a bad fit for our defense to begin with.

If Samuel were playing for any other team, I'd be thrilled if we made a move for him, but I don't like the idea of Jerry going to philly of all places with his hand out having to beg for one of their players. Having to approach that piece of junk of a franchise for a trade would be humiliating.

unless there was a *MAJOR* need due to season-ending injury to either of the starting CBs, I wouldn't do it either. It's too high a price to pay

Well I don't know that I'd go that far but I know what you're saying. With our luck we'd acquire him and he'd get hurt then we'd really look stupid AND have to stomach giving philly draft picks.
