This is for the Roy haters/bashers...

Did you see the coverage Samuels had on the WR on that 4th quarter INT?

Where he was playing off teh WR giving up the short stuff but not the deep stuff?

Did you see the LBs jump underneath the short stuff?

THAT's the same coverage we tried vs Shockey and Cooley (at times). Problem is our LBs weren't doing their jobs taking away the short stuff. Take a look at that play and it's a carbon copy of the coverage we had on cooley the play BEFORE his TD catch, and what we did several times vs Shockey.

When you play that type of coverage the LBs have to get in the passing lanes or it simply won't work.

That was beautiful.... Samuels played that like it was intended for him

I always find it funny people think the guy is overrated. Some people on this board called him selfish for holding out, but my guess is this off-season, he's going to get paid big.

I don't think we have a place for him, or rather the cap space, without cutting back elsewhere. I suppose we could let Flo go, bring Free in and try to sign the guy, but that's just wishful thinking.

Oh, and on the second int, the catch looked so natural that for a second I actually thought it was an Eagles touchdown.

After tonight's game I would call him opportunistic.

AJ Feely's 1st pass was weaker than a Chad Pennington out pattern and the INT in the endzone was the most unnecessary pass ever.

But he is 1 of the top CBs in the league.

Feely was pushing it way too hard towards the end. They had plenty of time and he should of went for first downs not touchdowns. If it wasn't for the pass rush they could've used Westbrook in the middle and ate it up. JMO, of course.

Feeley should of just looked for Wesbrook at the end.

On the first int, the ball wasn't badly thrown, he was just baited and took the bait. He was behind the guy the whole time and accelerated right when the ball was thrown to pick it off, which isn't exactly easy. On the over thrown ball, for a lot of corners, that's just an incomplete pass and the Eagles get another chance. He ended the game.

How can you not give the guy credit?

This is the same kind of logic people have used to exclude Newman from the list of elite CB's for years now.

I highly doubt the Patriots will pay him top cornerback money(which he will want) at the end of the season......

Just throwing this out there, but would you want to pay him top DB money, ALONG with Newman(his expires in 08 i believe).

yeah he blew it...they were in FG range anyway...unless the guy was wide open (and he clearly wasnt) he should have never thrown it...New England couldnt stop what they were doing and they had plenty of time

Reid had visions of dough-nuts dancing in his head, like he's allways had.

I couldn't agree more. They act like Roy is one on one all the time. Ellis has a lot of trouble dropping back and playing the pass, but I can't blame him since he has never done it until last year.

Right on. James and Adoleye dont cover. Roy didnt give up any long ones. He did an excellent job stopping the 5 yard pops by coming up and stopping them. Had one good 3rd down key conversion stopped that really helped. Giants game.
